Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge – March

March 7, 2017

Hi everyone,

It’s time for our March Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge. Our challenge this month is ‘It’s in the Box!’ We are going 3D this month, creating and decorating boxes using any of the 5 new box dies Elizabeth Craft Designs released in January.

For our challenge today we are giving away “a box die of choice” to 3 winners. The winners will get to select which box die they would like to receive from the following: Star Pillow Box, Triangle Treat Box, Lantern Box, Bonbon Box or Pillow Box with Handle.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post below and answer this question: “Which is your favorite box from the January 2017 collection?”

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, March 10 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Now let’s take a look at the wonderful creations our talented Design Team have created for the Challenge this month. For more information about the cards, click on the Designer’s name under each card to be taken directly to the Designer’s blog and view the post in a new window.

To get us started, Birgit Norton created a box using the Pillow Box with Handle and Scallop Hearts die sets from Els van de Burgt Studio. To decorate her box Birgit used one of the butterflies from the ModaScrap Dancing Butterflies die set.

Frances Byrne created a fun Easter gift using the ModaScrap Triangle Treat Box die to make SIX boxes, 3 in each of two patterned papers, held together with a “Happy Easter” Peel-Off Stickers belly bandTo decorate her box Frances used White Soft  Finish Cardstock and  Pop it Ups Lucky the Rabbit, and Joset Designs Easter Eggs layered atop Stitched Circles and Dotted Scallop Circles from Els van de Burgt Studio.

Melanie Smith has also used the ModaScrap Triangle Treat Box die to create her colorful project. Melanie highlighted the ‘zipper’ part of the Triange Treat Box that makes it so easy to reveal and access the treats inside!

Selma Stevenson created the beautiful box above using the Pillow Box with Handle and Love Sentiments from Els van de Burgt Studio. To decorate her box Selma used the Susan’s Garden Cherry Blossom.

Evgenia Petzer shows that the ModaScrap Triangle Treat Box can be used with just the one box to make an awesome presentation. This fun gift has a masculine look, decorated with Joset Designs’ Arrows and Stitched Hearts from Els van de Burgt Studio.

Anita Kejriwal had such fun making boxes using the Bonbon Box die from Els van de Burgt Studio that she couldn’t stop at just one …. she ended up making nine (six of which are shown above). Make sure you visit Anita’s blog to see close-up photos of all them. To decorate her boxes Anita also used the Stitched Hearts & Smile sentiment dies from Els van de Burgt Studio, Small Cupcake from Joset Designs, Krista Schneider’s Tea Time stamp set with coordinating dies, and ModaScrap Dancing Butterflies.

Sandy Diller thought ‘out of the box’ when she designed her project for today’s challenge! She created this fun battery-operated candle box decoration using the ModaScrap Lantern Box die. What a fun way to decorate for a party. Make sure you visit Sandy’s blog to see the tutorial on creating this project and some more examples of ways to use the Lantern Box die.

Katelyn Grosart created this fun box to help celebrate a birthday using the ModaScrap Star Pillow Box. To decorate her box Katelyn chose Feathers and Arrows die sets and the General Sentiments Clear Stamp set from Joset Designs as well as the ModaScrap Stitched Fishtail Banners.

Finally, Sanna Lippert shares with us two boxes with a masculine feel that she created by using Through the Lens Stone Series Papers from Els van de Burgt Studio. The box on the left was made with the ModaScrap Lantern Box die, the box on the right uses the Bonbon Box from Els van de Burgt Studio. To decorate the box and the tag behind the boxes Sanna chose ModaScrap Leafy Branch 2.
