Quick and Simple Wedding Card

June 24, 2018

Hi Everyone!

It’s time for June’s Sunday Stamping with Hedgehog Hollow.  It’s amazing to think I have been doing Sunday Stamping for over a year now (thanks, TimeHop!).  I love playing with my Elizabeth Craft Designs goodies each month and having a blog post scheduled always gives me a push to challenge myself to come up with something new.

I hope you all having a wonderful Sunday. We are definitely seeing some signs of summer in Ohio although we seemed to have skipped spring. With summer comes wedding season! We don’t have any this year, but we do have our wedding anniversary coming on Tuesday so I’m certainly feeling in the mood!  Today I have a really quick and easy wedding card for you, and I love the touch of elegance it has, plus you can customize the base depending on the color theme of the wedding….

Feeling Blue? Floral Monotone Card

April 21, 2018

Hi Everyone!

Alexandra from The Hedgehog Hollow here today! I’m so excited that we have brought back Sunday Stamping with Hedgehog Hollow.  I will be here once a month with a cardmaking video tutorial.  Today I decided to use the new Ocean release from Tonic Studios to color in the stunning Floral Background stamp.  This is such a versatile stamp, I have so many ideas with it, so expect to see more projects featuring this stamp on the Hollow!

I love how the on-point background just pops and looks so elegant, you could of course do this in any color scheme but I love the effect the blues give.

A Santa Die Cut Gift Tag

December 24, 2017

Hi Everyone!

It’s time for Sunday Stamping with Hedgehog Hollow again. I can’t believe it’s my last post of 2017.  First of all, Merry Christmas. I hope you are planning lots of fun times over the festive period, however you celebrate it.  I am of German heritage and I loved getting all my presents Christmas Eve. I let the girls open a small present Christmas Eve to keep the tradition alive, we have the rest of our presents Christmas Day – stockings when we first wake up and then we have Stollen Bread with Bucks Fizz and Prosecco, then a big round of presents before a big traditional British Christmas Day meal!  We have the in-laws over this year and I love them both so much. We will have lots of good food, laughter and fun while we celebrate our first Christmas in our own home. I’m so excited!

Sunday Stamping – Dreamy Dragonflies

August 20, 2017

Hi Everyone! Welcome to another Sunday Stamping feature with Hedgehog Hollow. I am thrilled to be back and appreciate how much you liked my Christmas card idea last month.  I am so looking forward to the new releases from Elizabeth Craft Designs. You can check them out in the store here.  I am looking forward to creating more holiday cards to share with you very soon! Whilst playing around with my watercolors I discovered a different wash technique and I knew that the dragonfly dies would be perfect to set this card off with a zing, I love a card with 3D accents and these are some of my favorites.  As usual, I have lots of techniques in today’s video. Let’s get started! Continue Reading

Sunday Stamping With Hedgehog Hollow – Layered Die-Cuts

June 18, 2017

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to Sunday Stamping with Hedgehog Hollow on the ECD blog. I am so excited to be a guest blogger.  First of all let me introduce myself. My name is Alexandra and I run a crafty blog called Hedgehog Hollow,  I am a British mummy who recently moved to Ohio, blogging about my adventures on this side of the pond along with our Prickle’s crafty exploits!  I will be here once a month with a full video tutorial on cardmaking techniques.  Each video will have lots of tips and tricks and a few hacks along the way to give you the most from your crafty budget.  ECD even created this wonderful graphic for me to add to our monthly posts…

I love the new trend of layered die cuts, however, they end up being so pricey once you have bought all the layers. So, of course I decided to create my own and the ECD Chevrons Background die was perfect for this technique as would the Diamond Background die.  Here are the cards we are going to create in today’s tutorial. I chose a 4th of July theme but you could use any color combination, or amend the sentiment for a birthday or anniversary as the colors are great for a masculine card (something I always find a bit tricky)…

Isn’t it surprising how using the same three colors in a different order come out with such a different effect?  These are super simple cards, your die cutting machine does all the work for you!  Here is a step-by-step video tutorial on how to create your own layered die cuts…

If you wish to use the Diamond Background, cut it down the middle and offset each half for the perfect layered effect.  I have so many ideas with this die that it will definitely be featured in a future post, so stay tuned to the ECD blog and Hedgehog Hollow for more ideas and some of my favorite tools from today’s tutorial.  For today, here is your ECD supply list for the tutorial. We have an exclusive Hedgehog Hollow discount code on our crafty sale page, too…
