Be Merry Mini Slimline Card

December 4, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Do you like Gnomes because Joset Designs new Gnomes dies are so adorable. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 3 1/2″ x 6″. Apply ink using a Blender Brush. I used a Teal Blue color and started light in the center working out to the darkest shade at the edges. I sprinkled water as the ink reacts to water creating a snow effect. Diecut Dotted Background using the panel created. Even though this die is for a regular slimline size I used it to create a background for a mini slimline. Adhere to card front using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 3 – Diecut Gnomes in various colors of cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue. Stamp Classic Christmas Sentiment using versamark on the female Gnome dress. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder, remove the excess and heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere the Gnomes to card using Foam Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Sleigh (layers for the tree) using Green Cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice. Diecut Snow Globe (bow) using Red Cardstock and adhere to the top of the tree using Kid’s Choice Glue. Optional – Apply Distress Grit-Paste to add some sparkle and texture to the tree. Let dry. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Santa’s Sleigh (presents) in various colors of Cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Here’s a sneak peak for my next blog post using the Winter Scenery Dies.

Tweet Greetings Card

November 30, 2019

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I am sharing a tweet greetings card using the Winter Bird and Sleigh dies from Joset Designs. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, score at 4 1/4” and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Apply ink of your choice to the entire panel. I used Distressed Oxide Inks. Optional add some White Acrylic Paint using a water brush to create a snowfall. Lightly tap the brush so the paint Will splatter onto the panel. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Adventure Edges 2 using White Soft Finish Cardstock to create hills. Adhere the bottom 2 using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Stamp Joyful Wishes sentiment to the top hill using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Adhere to card.

Step 4 – Diecut Winter Bird and Sleigh (just the tree) using coloured Cardstock. Optional I added shading using an alcohol marker to the edges. I used the Spectrum Noir Classique Markers. Assemble the tree and bird using Kids Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Optional. For added interest and sparkle I used a fine tip applicator using liquid glue around the edges of the tree and some parts of the bird then before it dried I added Silk Microfine Glitter in Warm Diamond. The sparkle in real life is stunning but the photo doesn’t do it justice. For a finishing touch use a White Gel Pen to add dots to the tree and bird. I think I went crazy but I love the results.

This card was super fun and creates an adorable holiday card. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Here Comes Santa Claus

July 18, 2019

Hey Friends! It is EK and I am so excited to be playing with my craft supplies today. Have you see the huge holiday announcement….the new Joset’s die collection has dropped over at Elizabeth Craft Designs! This release is filled with all kinds of wonderful Christmas and Holiday dies and a sentiment stamp.

Today I am playing around with the new Sleigh and Reindeer die set to create this cute Christmas card.

Step One: Die cut the Reindeer die set from some 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two: Color up the die cut pieces using alcohol markers. I used my copics (E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, R24, R46, and R89). I then adhered the pieces together to with some Kids Choice Glue.

Step Three: Repeat step one and two with the new Sleigh die set. I used my copic markers to color it up (R14, R17 R46, R89).

Step Four: Repeat step one and two with the gifts in the new Sleigh die set. I used my copics to color these presents up (B24, B26, B28, BV02, BV04, BV08).

Step Five: Repeat step one and two with the tree pieces from the new Sleigh die set. I colored the tree up with my copics (G09, G19, G29, R17, R46, R89, BB24, B26, B28, BV02, BV04, BV08).

Step Six: Adhered the gifts into the sleigh.

Step Seven: Trim a piece of Sky Blue Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches and fold and score at 6 inches to make a 6×6 card frame. Then die cut a piece of printed It’s Christmas Time paper with the new Stitched Indented Squares die set. Adhere the die cut piece to the card frame with some 10mm clear double sided adhesive.

Step Eight: Using Kids Choice Glue, adhere the sleigh, tree and reindeer to the card frame. Trim off any pieces that hang off.

Step Nine: Add some blue snowflakes from the tiny snowflake in the new Joyful Wishes sentiment stamp set.

Step Ten: Add some shading under the reindeer and sleigh with alcohol markers (I used copic markers N0, N2, N4) and stamp a sentiment from the new Joyful Wishes stamp set.

I hope you are as excited about this new release as we are. Let us know in the comments below which pieces of the release you are most excited to use. Until then, Happy Crafting.

Pop it Ups

Pop it Ups Wednesday with Shelly – Vintage Sleigh Ornament

December 2, 2015

shelly hickox pop it ups sleighHi all! It’s Shelly Hickox here today with a fun spin on one of my favorite dies from Karen Burniston. When I first saw the Sleigh Gift Card Holder, I knew I had to find a way to make it into a dimensional ornament. After spotting a vintage pink sleigh online, I was inspired to use those colors to create my own shabby chic version from paper! Here’s how it came together:

IMG_58131. Die cut two sleighs from silver glitter paper using the large base sleigh. Adhere a sheet of Elizabeth Craft Designs adhesive to the back of another piece of glitter paper. Cut two more sleighs, but make the cuts from the back side, creating a mirror image.

IMG_58162. Remove the release paper and adhere the glitter sleighs, creating two sleighs with glitter on each side. Next, cut a piece of glitter paper measuring 4.5″ x 1.5″. Score 1/4″ from the edge on either side and adhere a strip of Elizabeth Craft Designs adhesive tape. Cut tabs as shown.

3. Fold up tabs, remove release paper, and adhere one side of strip to one sleigh. Repeat with the other piece. You now have a 3D sleigh!

FullSizeRender4. Now we can decorate! Cut two of the decorative layers of the sleigh from Velvet Adhesive Paper, again reversing the paper on the second cut to create a mirror image. Emboss the die cuts using Karen Burniston’s Damask Embossing Folder. Note – it’s better to emboss after you cut. The texture gets flattened a bit if you emboss first.

shelly hickox pop it ups sleigh ornamentTo finish your ornament, adhere the embossed velvet paper to either side of the sleigh. Die cut the Noel and snowflakes from adhesive-backed paper and adhere as shown. Die cut several Berry Branches and glue inside the sleigh. Add a tree, die cut gifts, a ribbon, and your ornament is complete!

I hope you’re inspired to try making a sweet little sleigh ornament yourself. If pink and pretty isn’t your thing, you can choose different colors and style this in any fashion you choose. It would make a great teacher or secret Santa gift with a little candy and a gift card tucked inside. Or make a whole fleet and decorate your mantel – the possibilities are endless!
