Have A Magical Christmas

October 19, 2020

Hello friends,

It’s Sandy Diller here with you today. I have a fun, quick and easy card to share. I just got my new Sue Smith Stamps and as soon as I saw this one I immediately thought of one of the cute fairy dies from Joset Designs to use along with it. Just add a Santa hat and you’re good to go.

This is a 5″ X 6.5″ card so I used the largest Stitched Indented Rectangle on the front.

After stamping and embossing I was ready for the cute little fairy.

Using the Fairy 1 die set – I cut, colored and assembled the fairy and then added a Santa hat from the Santa Claus die set.

To finish off this card I cut out some glittered stars and a magic wand. It is still blank on the inside so a personal message can be added.

Have a magical day,

Sandy

Heavenly

October 6, 2020

Good morning!
I am excited to share my next creation for Elizabeth Craft Designs!
I am IN LOVE with the new Summer Art paper line and I finally got a chance to create with it….the designs and colors are outstanding!

To create this layout:

Step 1 – cover both sides of your paper with clear gesso ( I used the Summer Art Collection)
Step 2 – mix texture paste with a coordinating color of colorant (I chose tainted love teal from Lindys Stamp gang)
Step 3 – use your favorite ECD stencil and the colored texture paste approximately 2.5″ or 6 cm from the left hand side of your paper (I used the waves stencil)
Step 4 – while texture paste is still wet sprinkle Silk Microfine Glitter at top the image (I used copper)

Step 5 – place two pieces of cheesecloth (1 at least 12 inches or 30.5 cm long and one about 8 inches or 10cm ling) in a resealable freezer bag and color with your favorite mist or powder. (I used Lindy’s magical powders in Cowabunga copper and Hags Wart Orange). Remove from bag with tweezers or wearing gloves and dry with your heat gun
Step 6 – adhere the cheesecloth as shown in photos

Step 7 – fussy cut two small flowers, one large flower cluster, a turtle and a set of leaves from the paper and ink the edges

Step 8 – die cut three of your favorite ECD flowers (I used florals 2, florals 1, and florals 3) and assemble remembering to ink the edges
Step 9 – die cut an elegant ornament, palm tree and stem from the Summer Journal Special and an anchor, then ink the edges

Step 10 – grab your favorite chipboard title and heat emboss twice, on the third embossing sprinkle silk microfine glitter into the while you are heat setting the embossing powder. I do not normally take photos in direct sunlight but I wanted to share the glitteriness of the effect
Step 11 – create a photo mat, ink the edges of the mat as well as the background paper. Adhere everything as shown and add some seed beads!

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Birthday Happiness

October 5, 2020

Karen here! I am loving the fun stamps designed by Sue for Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are a great pairing with the fun floral dies designed by Anita and the background dies designed by Joset. It’s so cool that all of these fun products go together so well.

To create this card, first cut an 8-1/2×11″ piece of teal cardstock in half, scored and folded it to create a card base. Add 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to the back of a piece of 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut it with the Floral Burst Background die. Adhere this to the cardbase. On another piece of white cardstock, stamp “Birthday Happiness” from the For You Stamps and cut it with a Stitched Rounded Rectangle die. Cut the bottom off near the bottom of the stamp. Add a pink cardstock border and adhere it to the card. Outline the stamp with a Copic BG53. Add some fun lace at the bottom of the stamp.

Next, create the flowers by die cutting the Florals 1 Die with Double Sided Adhesive and using Petal Pink Silk Microfine Glitter from the Bloom Set. Dab the edges into Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder and heat set. (Els did a fun video showing this technique, and I was super inspired. Find the video here!) Use Metallic Gold Craft Drops for the centers, and add the fun flowers to the card!

I created a second card using the Florals 4 Dies with a NEW stamp by Sue for Christmas that is COMING SOON! On this card, I used Cool Diamond and Forest Green Silk Microfine Glitter along with the Organic Triangle Background Die.

Thank you for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Hello Pumpkins!

September 27, 2020

Hello Samantha here – and as Halloween approaches I thought I’d inspire you with a (not so) scary pumpkin card!

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Use green card to cut out a card front – Card Measurement: 10.5cm x 14.5cm

Step 2: Use a variety of orange card stock to die cut the pumpkins. Use kraft card to die cut the other pumpkin elements.

Step 3: Assemble the pumpkins and adhere these to the card front.

(Optional) Add machine stitched details.

Step 4: Using embossing ink stamp the sentiment – from Halloween clear stamp set then apply a generous amount of white embossing powder. Heat to set the embossing powder.

Adhere the sentiment to the card front.

Step 5: Adhere Clear Double Sided adhesive to black cardstock. Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Basic Black). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Use this glitter card to die cut the small faces from the Pumkins die.

Step 6: Adhere the faces to the pumpkins. Use green card stock to die cut a few leaves. Adhere these to the card front.

Step 7: Adhere the card front to an A6 card base. Embellish with sequins and a twine bow.

I hope you like today’s Halloween inspired card. But let’s be honest these pumpkins are a little more on the cute side then the scary!

Happy Crafting!

Step 3: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Silver). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 4: Use pink card to die cut the crown detailed die.

Step 5: Use light pink card to die cut the crown detail die.

Step 6: Assemble the crown as shown below. Use foam tape to adhere the light pink negative die cut details.

Step 7: Die cut extra stars using pink and silver card. Adhere the crown and stars as shown below.

Glitter Princess

August 17, 2020

IMG_0835Hey friends!  It’s EK, and I am popping in today with an over the top glitter card for a little princess in my life.  Let’s be honest, when dealing with the little princess in your life, it really should be over the top, and the new Princess Crown die set is perfect for a little bit of over the top glitter.

IMG_0825Step One:  Place some Clear Double Sided Adhesive over a piece of trimmed 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.  Die cut the Princess Crown die set over the Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

IMG_0826Step Two:  Peel back the adhesive paper of the crown shape die cut and adhere the detailed crown die cut over into the center of it.  Add Lavender Ice Silk Microfine Glitter over the die cut crown shape.

IMG_0827Step Three:  Peel the adhesive paper back from the detailed crown die cut and add Imperial Garnet Silk Microfine Glitter over it.

IMG_0828Step Four:  Add Bright Cranberry Silk Microfine Glitter over the Princess die cut and the heart from the detailed crown die cut.

IMG_0829Step Five:  Add Copper Rose Silk Microfine Glitter over the stars and flair die cut piece.

IMG_0830Step Six:  Trim a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock to 4.25×5.5 inches.  Blend dark water soluble ink over the cardstock and spray it with sparkling spray.  I used Black Soot Distress Oxide and Perfect Pearls Spray.  Let Dry.

IMG_0831Step Seven:  Die cut the blended piece of cardstock with a large die from the Stitched Indented Rectangle die set.

IMG_0833Step Eight:  Using 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive, adhere the die cut blended cardstock to an A2 card frame.    Then add the glitter crown on top of the blended cardstock.  Using Kids Choice Glue, adhere the rest of the die cuts to the card frame.

IMG_0834Step Nine:  Using a stamping platform, stamp stars and a sentiment from the new Once Upon a Time Sentiments stamp set using white pigment ink.

IMG_0836I wish you could see exactly how sparkly this card is with all this glitter.  I just adore how the pinks and purples just pop with the black behind it.

IMG_0837Let us know in the comments below if you would craft with this much glitter for the little princess in your life.  Until then, happy crafting.

Purr-fect Day!

July 26, 2020

Hello and welcome! Samantha here with this purr-fect card featuring Elizabeth Craft Designs Cat die along with a few other fun items that work so well with this slim line card.

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Use washi tape to secure a slim line white card front (Card Measurement: 10cm x 21cm) to the craft mat. Next, position the stencil over the white card (leaving 1/3 white space on the top). Secure the stencil down with washi tape.

Step 2: Use a blending tool to blend in a generous amount of light pink ink over the stencil, through to the white card.

Step 3: Reposition the stencil, secure and repeat ink blending until the whole card front is full.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 using dark pink ink. Repeat again using light grey ink. Over lap the ink blending where possible.

Step 5: Use grey and light pink card to die cut the Cat image.

Step 6: Assemble and adhere the cat to the top right corner of the card front.

Step 7: Use pink card to die cut the Planner Labels tag die. Resize the tag by die-cutting the bottom section only.

Stamp the sentiment. Adhere to the card front as shown in main image.

Step 8: Adhere Clear Double Sided adhesive to white cardstock. Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Fuchsia). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Use this glitter card to die cut the small heart from the Planner Labels die.

Step 9: Continue to die cut the small heart section of the Planner Label die – use light pink and grey card.

Step 10: Embellish the card front with the hearts. Die cut the fish skeleton using white card. Adhere these to the card front. Embellish with sequins and a twine bow.

Hope you like todays card inspiration! Slim Cards are very in at the moment – simply by moving the stencil around you can create any sized card you wish!

Happy Crafting!

Samantha

Folded Leaf Pocket Gift Card

July 9, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again with a July card tutorial for! When I look at the Planner Essentials line, I think of ways of using them in cardmaking. I created a gift card with Planner Essential die cut dies for this particular card.

So for this card I combined dies from the Planner Pocket 3 die set as well as used the Budding Florals from the Art Journal line and the lovely Leaf Pocket die from the ModaScrap line. Here is how I did the card:

Step 1: Die cut the Leaf Pocket from a piece of patterned paper and fold the flaps towards the inside on the back. Apply Clear Double Sided Tape on the folded flaps.
Step 2: Next die cut a slip of kraft cardstock using the small “tab” piece of the Planner Pocket 3 set. This will be the gift card base.
Step 3: Now die cut 2 pieces of the “cover tabs” from the same patterned paper used for the leaf pocket. Fold along the folding line. Die cut a lined paper with the bigger rounded piece to create a space for your gift card text.

Step 4: Take a piece of kraft cardstock and place the die cut and folded leaf pocket on top and make folding marks alongside the pocket – add 1-2 mm space on both sides.
Step 5: Fold the base and cut in size. Now cut slightly smaller pieces of patterned paper to matt all the sides of the card base.
Step 6: Die cut the leaves using the Budding Florals leaf die. Next add small strips of Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet on a strip of kraft cardstock and die cut two Poppies. Apply Silk Microfine Glitter onto the tape areas.
Step 7: Adhere and assembly all pieces on place (see the video for more precise steps) and add a stamped sentiment using Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set. Add twine and your card is done.

To give you a better idea of each and every step, I´ve again recorded a start-to-finish video for you to watch. Hope you like it!

See you again next month with another card project tutorial!

Happy crafting,
xxx, Sanna

Let It Snow!

June 24, 2020

Good morning!
Laura with you today to share a wintery fun layout using LOTS of ECD goodies!

To make this layout:
Step 1 – Tear a strip off one side and a smaller strip from the other side of your white soft finish cardstock and cover it with clear gesso and allow to dry or heat set
Step 2- Using one of your favorite stencils and texture paste along the side of your paper then adhere your white cardstock to a patterned paper (I used Kaisercraft)
Step 3 – Using your Watercolor Palette, use the three shades of blue and allow them to mingle together to create a subtle blend. using your pen add some of the blue water color paint tgo a palette, your glass mat or your craft mat. spray with water to make very runny. Using a fan brush or your favorite splatter technique add splatters to your page. Have fun with it! Heat set the paint and allow to dry thoroughly. Dry brush white acrylic paint over the raised images of your stencil!
Step 4 – add a strip of cheesecloth over the stenciled area
Step 5 – Die cut at least 6 Leaf and Berry Branches, 2 Leafy Branch, and 3 of the largest circles from the stitched circles from the white cardstock
Step 6 – create 3 rolled flowers from the die cut circles

Step 7 – adhere the double sided tape to cardstock and die cut 5 snowflakes from the Hot Chocolate set, 1 large snowflake from the Snow Flake Set, and Let It Snow from the Winter Wishes set.
Step 8 – peel the backing off the snowflakes and use the Cool Diamond silk microfine glitter, and use the faded denim silk microfine glitter on the title

Step 9 – add sequins, seed beads and micro beads randomly to your mixed media area and die cuts!

Thank you so much for stopping by
~Laura
