A Set Of Cute Hippo Baby Cards

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here again today with a set of “build-a-Hippo” baby cards. I adore this little die cut die so much –– it’s perfect for so many occasions, and practically made for creating baby cards! And while I was at it, I created a set of three. You never know when you’ll need one!

This is how I created the cards:

Step 1: First take a sheet of White Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut 3 sets of Hippos. And don’t forget to die cut the feet six times!! 🙂
Step 2: Next take a sheet of Soft Sky and Dusky cardstock and die cut two sets with the Stitched Rounded Rechtangle from the blue paper and one set from the lilac one.
Step 3: Take a white Soft Finish Cardstock sheet (or glitter cardstock) and die cut three sets with the Postage Stamp Rectangles die cut die.
Step 4: Ink the hippo pieces with grey and pink stamp ink, but leave the eyes and teeth white.


Step 5: Now cut blue and purple patterned paper into a card size from the polka-dotted “Thinking about Polinesia” paper. Adhere onto the card base.
Step 6: Attach a piece of ribbon in blue and pink onto the cards, then adhere the rechtangle pieces on place. Start with the postage stamp piece and adhere the rounded rectangle on top.
Step 7: Add a stamped sentiment using the Ahoy Sentiments or the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set and black stamp ink.
Step 8: Color the tiny eye pieces with a black marker and adhere in place.

Valentine’s Day Card

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here! I’m so thrilled to be able to continue sharing projects as a guest blogger here on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog again!!! For today’s post I wanted to create a Valentine’s Day card as sweet as sugar, but one that is still really easy to make… just in case you want to make a series of them!

Here is how to create the card:

Step 1: Pick several sheet of Soft Finish Cardstock in various pink and light purple tones. I used a dark and light pink one as well as a very light purple/lilac tone.
Step 2: Die cut borders from the chosen cardstock colors – one border set per colour – using the Valentine’s Edges die cut set.
Step 3: Next adhere a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto a piece of white cardstock.
Step 4: Die cut the white, adhesive covered piece using the solid heart die of the Heart Cutouts die cut die.
Step 5: Next die cut the inner piece of the Heart Cutouts heart from the dark pink Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere these pieces together.
Step 6: Place the heart into a coffee filter and pour Bright Cranberry Silk Microfine Glitter over the tiny hearts and brush the residue off with a paint brush. Pour the residue back into the glitter jar and polish the glitter using your finger.
Step 7: Take a piece of black cardstock and stamp a Valentine’s sentiment with embossing ink – using the Love Sentiments clear stamp set – and heat emboss using white fine embossing powder. Fussy cut – or use a banner die cut die – into right size.
Step 8: Adhere all pieces onto a white card base using Clear Double Sided Adhesive tape for the border pieces and the heart and 3D foam for the sentiment. Decorate with Craft Drops (optional).

Clean And Simple Christmas Shaker Cards

Hello everybody, it’s Sanna Lippert here again today with another guest design team project. For today’s post I have prepared a set of clean and simple style Christmas shaker cards with a photo step-by-step tutorial. I wanted to create simple looking, yet sparkly cards and this is what I ended up creating.

Here is how I created the cards:

Take a sheet of white Soft Finish Cardstock and cut it into two card base sizes you have prepared for cardmaking. Then place the white cardstock pieces into your die cutting machine and die cut a Fitted Star and a Fitted Circle with it. Place the die cut centered, but onto the upper part of the cardstock piece. Then die cut.

Next die cut from the residue sheet of white Soft Finished Cardstock some rows of houses using the Village Edges die cut die set. The images don´t have to be perfect all the way to the end, because you will only be using parts of them.

Now grab some Distress Oxides of your choice (I used Peacock Feathers and Fossilized Amber) and apply the oxide with an ink blending tool with circular motion onto the white card base background approximately to the area where the star and the circle will be. This way you create a coloured background to that area.

Then stamp a sentiment with black ink under the star and the circle areas. I used the Winter Sentiments clear stamp set here, but you can pick a sentiment set of your choice.

Now arrange the rows of houses under the star and the circle areas and adhere on place. You could also totally stop here and adhere the pieces together or you can follow the step to create shaker cards.

Here is an image of how I adhered the rows of houses onto the card.

Next apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto the background of the die cut piece and then cut a piece of transparent acetate and place it on top of the adhesive.

For the next step, take some 3D foam and apply it aroud the edges of the card as well as around the circle and star image to create a place where to apply the confetti later. Make sure there are no open areas between the foam pieces in the area you are going to place the confetti into later, otherwise the confetti will move to areas you don´t want it to be in.

Now take confetti of your choice and place it onto the inked area of the card base. Then attach the 3D foam treated piece on top and press on place. Add faux stitching around the edges of the cards and if you want to, also around the die cut circle and star area.

Here are the finished cards. I think they turned out really nice.

Clean And Simple Die Cut Cards With DIY Foam Stamps

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here today with another guest design team project share. This post started off with a simple question: have you ever used the die to cut out the stamped image you just made?

I found the question very interesting, so I gave it a try and these cards are a result of that experiment.

Here is what I did:
1. Take your die cut die DIY foam stamps and apply three colours of Distress Ink and for the second set use Distress Oxide inks onto the foam stamp.
2. Spray water mist onto the inked stamp to create a “faux watercolour look”.
3. Now die cut the stamped images using the same die cut dies you used originally to create the DIY stamps. This is a little bit tricky, as you need to figure out where to place the die cut die THRU the paper. Preferably, place the image againts a window/light box, for easier placement.
4. You can either adhere the images onto the card base with a glue pen OR attach Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets onto the stamped paper BEFORE die cutting. This makes adhering much easier.
5. Adhere onto card bases and then stamp sentiments on black cardstock with embossing ink and using white embossing powder heat set with a heat gun.
6. Attach to the card base with 3D foam pad, add faux stitching around the edges of the card with a gel pen. If you want to, apply black ink splatters for decoration.

There are, of course, easier ways to create these images:
a) die cut the image from white cardstock and then ink the die cut image with stamp inks; OR
b) ink a piece of white cardstock and then die cut it.

This technique I share today, shows another way of incorporating your with die cut dies created DIY stamps into cardmaking. You need a little bit of patience, but in the end you get a really nice artsy looking images!

How To Create These Clean And Simple Hexagon Cards

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here today again, sharing my April guest design team project with you. I love basic dies for their versatility, and wanted to show how to create these fun and colorful –– but clean and simple –– cards with just a few easy-to-follow steps.

Here is what I did:
Step 1: Die cut 12 hexagon pieces –– three of each of the 4 smallest sizes from the Fitted Hexagons die set, from white Soft Finish Cardstock with your die cutting machine.
Step 2: Fold a card base from white Soft Finish Cardstock approximately 14,5 x 10,5 cm in size and arrange the die cut hexagon pieces onto the card base.
Step 3: Now place the die cut hexagons onto a craft mat in the exact same order and take three tones of Distress Ink to color them with an ink blending tool. Blend the colors together to create a gradient color pattern.
Step 4: Adhere the inked hexagons in place with Kids Choice glue or Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Cut off any residues with scissors.

Step 5: Add water splatters onto the inked areas and let sit a bit, then dab with a piece of cloth.
Step 6: Die cut a Fishtail Banner from white Soft Finish Cardstock and stamp a sentiment from General Sentiments clear stamp set with black stamp ink onto the banner.
Step 7: Adhere the smallest hexagons and the banner with 3D foam pads onto the card base and add a few silver sequins for decoration. The tweezers are great for this purpose!

I’ve also recorded a video for you to watch, to give you a better idea of each particular step. Hope you like it!

Also while I was at it, I created an additional card, with yellow, orange and pink Distress Ink tones and the Stitched Hexagons die set. What a big difference it makes by only changing a color scheme!

How To Make This Love-Themed Present Set

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again. I am very honored to be able to continue as a guest blogger here at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog bi-monthly this year. As my very first project for this year, I´d like to share a fun love-themed present set with you.

Here is what the finished project looks like:

Here is what I did:

Step 1: Die cut the light purple polka dot paper with the present box with the Pillow Box with Handle die. Also adhere the same paper as a background piece to a white card base.
Step 2: Die cut the jar, the hearts, the tag and the straw from white Soft Finish Cardstock using the Summer Drink die cut die set.
Step 3: Now die cut the flamingos also from white Soft Finish Cardstock using the Flamingos die cut die set.
Step 4: Die cut a blue background piece from the Fly & Scrap paper collection papers with the Stitched Rectangles die.
Step 5: Using Distress Inks color the flamingos, the jar, the hearts and the straw. I used mainly various pink tones and an ink blending tool for this step. Stamp a sentiment onto the jar tag.
Step 6: Build the box, then assembly the flamingos and the jar together and adhere on place.
Step 7: Decorate with a matching colored ribbon.

This is all from me for today. This type of love-themed project is perfect for so many occasions. Depending on the colours you choose, you can create something for Mother´s Day or for a Wedding or for a baby shower even!

Tropical Flower Card
