Merry Planner Page

November 12, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Merry Planner Page.

To create my Merry Planner Page, I’ve used a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my planner page at home.

Step One. Choose a piece of Christmas patterned paper. From the Planner Essentials – 5 die, die cut one of the pages out of the patterned paper.

Step Two. From the Planner Essentials 14 – Bookmark 1 die, die cut the star reinforcements and the Merry word out of a piece of red cardstock. You’ll only need two of the star reinforcements.

Step Three. From the Planner Essentials 15 – Bookmark 2 die, die cut the snowflake ornament once out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and a second time out of Silver Foil Cardstock. From the white snowflake ornament, you’ll only need the cut out snowflake. From the Planner Essentials 14 – Bookmark 1 die, die cut the dotted ornament out of green cardstock. Die cut the plain ornament once out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and a second time out of red cardstock.

Step Four. Die cut the stars from the Planner Essentials 12 – Arrow Page & Trees out of a piece of foil paper. You’ll need a total of five stars.

Step Five. Die cut the dotted circle wreath from the Planner Essentials – Planner Pocket 2 twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Six. Adhere the star reinforcements over top of the circles on the page.

Step Seven. Adhere the two dotted circle wreaths on the page as desired. I layered the two wreaths together.

Step Eight. Adhere the dotted ornament to the red plain ornament. Adhere the silver foil snowflake ornament to the plain white ornament. Foam square the white snowflake to the middle of the silver foil ornament.

Step Nine. Foam square the dotted ornament 1 1/4″ from the bottom and to the right hand side of the circle wreath. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the snowflake ornament 1/2″ from the left and 3/4″ from the bottom of the page.

Step Ten. Adhere the Merry word to the bottom right side of the ornaments. Use foam squares to adhere the five stars as desired on the page.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Merry Planner Page at home.

The Ladies Of ECD

January 9, 2020

Hey Friends!  It’s a new year, so I have been revamping my planner.  But this year I really wanted a cool art piece to be the cover.  I wanted it to be something I would enjoy seeing al year long.  And since I take great pride in my group of girl friends who enrich my life, I thought it might be fun to pull out the different lady stamps, drawn by Charlene, ECD has released this past year to decorate the inside of my planner.

Step One:  Stamp the five female stamps released this past year onto some watercolor paper using some gray water resistant ink.  The five ladies come from the Make a Wish, Halloween Party, Oh the Joy of Christmas, Moments of Life and Pure Spring stamp sets.

Step Two:  Using watercolor makers, color in the skin tones.  I used the Ecoline Beige Pink collection.

IMG_8376

Step Three:  Using watercolor or ink pencils color in the hair, lips and eyes of the ladies.  I used Inktense pencils.

Step Four:  Using a white gel pen, add reflection to the eyes.  I used a Gelly Role Pen.

Step Five:  Using watercolored pencils, color in the clothing.  I traced around the edges of the stamp, and colored in a little bit when the heaviest shading would be.  Then using a watercolor brush, I moved around the color.

I used Spectrum Noir AquaBlend watercolored pencils to color in all the clothing.

Step Six:  Fill in the background with color.  I used traditional watercolors.

Step Seven:  While the watercolor is still wet, add powder watercolor to create more visual interest.  I used Brusho in purple.

Step Eight:  Add stamped sentiments.  I used sentiments stamps from both Moments of Life and Pure Spring in black water resistant ink.

IMG_8391

Step Nine:  Die cut holes into the watercolor paper using the Planner Essentials 5 die set.

Step Ten:  Trim the edges with scissors so it will fit nicely into your planner.  I love these little Fine Pointed Scissors from ECD.

I just love how this came out.  Yes, it might be a little purple, but it is great color to use to theme an entire calendar year.

I ended up coloring each of the ladies so that they would remind me of a dear friend.

Now all year long when I open my planner, I can be reminded of my friends who are more like sisters.

January 7, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Life is a Collection of Moments Planner Insert.

I love crafting with the Planner Essentials Collection of stamps and dies to create fabulous mixed media pages and inserts for my planners.

You’ll want to read below as I have a tutorial for you on how to recreate my insert at home!

Step One. Die cut the insert from the Planner Essentials – 5 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On a clear stamp block, randomly put Wilted Violet, Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink. Spritz the block with water and then stamp onto the insert. Dry the insert with a heat tool. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the splatter stamp from the Background Stamps 2 and stamp randomly on the insert. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed.

Step Two. Apply Emboss It Ink to the random equation stamp from the Background Stamps 3 and stamp randomly onto the insert. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Sprinkle Boho Blends – Turkish Bronze Embossing Powder over the stamped areas. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the insert. Ink the edges of the insert using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Planner Essentials – 5 die, die cut two reinforcements out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the splatter stamp and stamp randomly on each reinforcement. Ink the edges of the reinforcements using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Moments of Life stamp set, you’ll need the life is a collection sentiment. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the sentiment and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the sentiment into three strips. Ink the edges of each strip using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the same stamp set, you’ll need the two circles. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to each circle and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut each circle out. Ink the edges of each circle using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. The last elements from the Moments of Life stamp set you’ll need are the two stars. Apply Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink to the large star and small star and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Reapply Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink to the large star and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink to the large star and small star and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink to the large star and small star and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut all of the stars out. Ink the edges of all of the stars using Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Adhere the reinforcement circles over top of the circles on the insert. Foam square the large circle to the middle left of the insert. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the small circle to the bottom right of the large circle.

Step Eight. Adhere the sentiment strips to the right side of the circles as desired.

Step Nine. To finish your insert, adhere the seven stars as desired onto the insert.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Life is a Collection of Moments Planner Insert.

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you a title page for inside my planner to mark the start of July.

To create my title page, I’ve used a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials collection and ModaScrap. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step one. From the Planner Essentials – 1 die set, die cut the page out of a piece of patterned paper. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step three. Die cut the page from the Planner Essentials – 2 die set out of a third piece of coordinating patterned paper. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step four. Die cut the 2 3/4″ Dashing Circle out of the backside of one of the coordinating patterned paper pieces. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step five. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials – 5 die set out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step seven. Die cut the circle wreath from the Planner Pocket – 2 die set twice out of the two patterned papers you used for the stitched hexagons.

Step eight. From the Planner Months die set, die cut the July word out of one of the patterned papers used for the circle wreaths. Die cut the July word a second time out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step nine. Adhere six of the reinforcements to the left hand page. This completes your left hand page of the spread.

Step ten. Adhere the other six reinforcements to the right hand side page.

Step eleven. Adhere the stitched hexagons as desired on the tag. Trim off any hexagons that are hanging over the tag. Ink the edges of the hexagons if needed using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. Foam square the tag to the middle of the right hand page.

Step twelve. Foam square the dashing circle to the middle of the tag. Adhere the two circle wreaths overtop of the dashing circle, making sure the wreaths are both showing.

Step thirteen. Adhere the patterned paper ‘July’ slightly overtop of the ‘July’ White Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere the July word to the middle of the dashing circle. This finishes the right hand page of your planner spread.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my July Title Page.
