A Masculine Distressed Layout

July 31, 2019

Good morning!
I am a proud mom of two boys and therefor have created many masculine layouts.
There are so many awesome die from Elizabeth Craft including the new planner essentials dies and stamps that are perfect when creating those manly layouts!

To create this layout:

Step 1: after choosing your main sheet ink the outside edge then cover both sides of your paper with clear gesso and allow to dry or use your heat gun to dry. *covering both sides helps to cut down on warping that you may get when you use mixed media products.

Step 2: taking your planner essentials patterns 2 stamp, stamp the flowery looking stamp with brown ink at 1 inch from the left edge of the paper. then towards the top at about 5 inches from the left, then slightly higher at 6 inches, then closer to the bottom at 9 inches and again at 10 inches lower than the one at 9 inches. Allow to dry or set with your heat gun.

Step 3: taking a coordinating color of mist, use a paint brush to highlight these stamped images.

Step 4: mix another coordinating color of powder colorant (i.e. magicals) with embossing paste and using a palette knife apply beside and an top of stamped images and set with heat gun.

Step 5: die cut each of the following using coordinating papers:

Ink the edges of all the die cuts.

Step 6: assemble as shown.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Creating Pages For Your Monthly Calendar And Important Dates

March 19, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my March Calendar and Important Dates Tag.

Have you seen the new release from Esther Glass for the Planner Essentials Line? Well, both pages feature some of the new products that are now available from the new release! On top of using the new Planner Essentials release from Esther Glass, I’ve used dies from Els van de Burgt Studio and Joset Designs as well as patterned paper from ModaScrap. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

To start, I will share with you how to recreate my March Calendar Page.

Step 1. Die cut the Planner Page from the Planner Essentials 3 set out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Jade Magenta Nuance Powder over 1/4 of the way from the top of the page. Spritz with water. Once the page has dried, apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Monthly stamp from the Bullet Journaling 3 stamp set and stamp onto the tab of the page. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the ‘XXX’ stamp and stamp in the bottom left and top right corner of the page. Ink the edges of the page using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. From the Planner Essentials 1 die, die cut the reinforcement circles out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 3. From the Blackboard Alphabet Die, die cut the word March out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 4. Adhere the reinforcement circles overtop of the circles on the page. Adhere the March word to where the magenta nuance is. Place the Sun. to Sat. stamps, from the Schedule stamp set, onto a stamp block. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the days of the week and stamp underneath the March word.

Step 5. To finish the page, add the corresponding numbers underneath the days on the calendar as well as add black markings around the March word.

With your March Calendar Page done, I will share with you how to recreate my Important Dates Tag.

Step 1. Start by die cutting the tag from the Planner Essentials 7 die out of kraft cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the letter stamp, from the Patterns 2 stamp set, stamp off onto a piece of scrap paper and then stamp onto to your tag randomly. Repeat the previous step six more times to your tag. Distress the edges of the tag. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. From the Planner Essentials 1 die, die cut the reinforcement circles out of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the reinforcements circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 3. From the Planner Patterns, die cut the square pattern twice out of black cardstock. Cut the two pieces up into four pieces.

Step 4. From the Stitched Fishtail Banners, die cut the 3/8″ banner out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the notched side of the die, 2 7/8″ from the side of the banner that is straight and run the die through your die-cutting machine. Die cut the 3/4″ banner out of a scrap piece of patterned paper from the Butterfly Dream Paper Pack. Place the notched side of the die, 3 1/2″ from the side of the banner that is straight and run the die through your die-cutting machine. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Important stamp, from the Bullet Journaling 2 stamp set and stamp onto the white banner. Ink the edges of the important and patterned paper banner using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 5. From the Retro Labels stamp set, you’ll need nine of the labels. Next, you’ll need a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Ink to three of the labels and stamp onto the White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Ink to three of the labels and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink to four of the labels and stamp onto the same piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the labels. Write on each label as desired. Ink the edges of all the labels using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 6. Adhere the reinforcement circles overtop of the circles on the tag page.

Step 7. Adhere the square patterned pieces as desired on the tag.

Step 8. Adhere the Important banner to the patterned paper banner. Foam square the patterned paper banner to the top portion of the tag.

Step 9. To finish the tag, adhere the labels as desired.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my March Calendar Page and Important Dates Tag.

February Planner Page

February 6, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my February Planner Page. For the start of each month, I love creating a planner title page that either reflects an occasion that happens in that month or a season. To create my February Planner Page, I’ve used dies from the Planner Essentials collection and Els van de Burgt Studio. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

Step 1. On a scrap piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, use a blending tool with foam to blend Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and Candied Apple Distress Ink on the cardstock. Die cut the small Entwined Hearts die twice out of the Worn Lipstick side of the cardstock. Die cut the small Entwined Hearts die twice out of the Candied Apple side of the cardstock. Ink the edges of all the hearts using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. From the Blackboard Alphabet die, die cut the F, E, B and dot out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Candied Apple Distress Ink over the letters and dot. Ink the edges of the letters and dot using a Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 3. Choose two pieces of patterned paper from the ModaScrap – Simply Love Paper Pack. Die cut the large Entwined Heart out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut the medium Entwined Heart out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of the hearts using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 4. Die cut the 3 1/4″ Stitched Heart out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Ink the edges of the heart using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 5. From one of the patterned papers you already used, die cut the 1 1/8″ Stitched Fishtail Banner out of the paper. Place the notched side of the stitched fishtail banner on the other side of the patterned paper to create a notch on the other size. The banner will end up measuring 4 3/4″ long. Ink the edges of the banner using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 6. Choose another piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap – Simply Love Paper Pack. Die cut the planner page from the Planner Essentials – 1 die out of the patterned paper. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the February Calendar stamp and stamp onto the tab of the page. Apply Potting Soil Archival Ink to the bubble stamp from the Patterns 2 Stamp Set and stamp onto the page. Reapply ink to the bubble stamp and stamp again on the page. You’ll need to repeat this step three more times onto the page.

Step 7. With a piece of foam square, adhere the banner to the middle of the page. Then, adhere the stitched heart to the middle of the banner.

Step 8. Adhere the large entwined heart over top of the stitched heart. Adhere the medium entwined heart to the middle of the stitched heart.

Step 9. Adhere the ‘FEB.’ to the middle of the stitched heart. Adhere the small hearts randomly around the hearts on the planner page. To finish off the page, add white lines to the bubbles where the other lines are.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my February Planner Page.
