Summer Birthday Mini Slimline Card

June 7, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I have a fun Summer Birthday Card to share using some oldie but goodie Joset Design Dies. Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Diecut Adventure Edges (clouds) to use as a stencil. Place the diecut on the card front and using a blender brush ink the edges in blue ink of your choice. Repeat this until 1/2” from the bottom (the card is landscape).

Step 3 – Using any alcohol markers of your choice use the dot technique to create sand. I used Copics in colors E30, E31, E33, E35.

Step 4 – Diecut Palm Trees in colored Cardstock or White Soft Finish to color. I used White and colored them with Copics in colors E35, E33, E31 for the base of the tree, G28, YG17, YG13 for the Palm Leaves and E37, E35 for the coconuts. Assemble and adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Parrot in colored Cardstock or White Soft Finish to color. I used White and colored them with Copics in colors G28, YG17, YG13 for the head. B34, B14, B12 for the wings and feathers on top of the head. YR09, YR04, YR14 for the body, legs, feet. Y18, Y15, Y11 for the feathered tail. Assemble with Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Diecut Party Accessories in colored Cardstock or White Soft Finish to color. I used White and colored them with Copics. I used Y18, Y15, Y11 for the balloon and C4, C2 for the balloon string. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card using Foam Tape making sure that the string is behind the wing.

Step 7 – Stamp Life Is Better On The Farm sentiments using Blue Ink of your choice.

If you wanted to keep it simple you can do Steps 1, 2, 3, one Palm Tree from Step 4 and 7.

Retirement cards

May 7, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with my May guest design team card tutorial. I needed two retiment cards for colleagues and wanted to use Elizabeth Craft Designs dies for creating them, because they have several that are just perfect for this occasion.

Here are the steps, on how to create this card:

Step 1: Take a white card base and die cut piece of additional carstock with Adventure Edges to create a DIY stencil. Then using the self-made stencil, apply yellow Distress Ink onto the background to create a cloud pattern.
Step 2: Die cut the waves and the palm tree scenery from white Soft Finish Cardstock using the Palm Trees and Ocean Edges die cut dies.
Step 3: Ink the various pieces with blue, yellow, green and brown Distress Ink tones.

Step 4: Adhere the inked pieces onto the card, starting with the waves. Use Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape for the bigger parts and Kids Choice Glue for the smaller pieces. Also, the tweezers are very helpful, when adhering (or inking) tiny pieces on place.
Step 5: Now add a stamped sentiment and sun onto the card. For this card I used the Beach Sentiments (the sun) and the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 clear stamp sets.
Step 6 (optional): Add some white splatterns onto the waves using white acrylic paint or like I did, pigment sticks and water.

I also created a second card using the exactly same steps, but instead of using the island, I used a sailboat die cut die. Sadly, this die cut die is discontinued, but I added links to altenative products into the supply list that would work on a retirement card as well.

I did the exact same steps, like on the first card, but instead of using the Build Your Own Sentiment 1 stamp set I replaced it with Ahoy Sentiments, because it better suited the boat theme. I hope you don´t mind me using a discontinued die cut die on this card? I tried to find you nice alternatives from the store and also did! You could use the Sailor´s Life stamp and die sets to create a fun sailboat image for this card or replace the boat with a hot air balloon – also listed in the supply list. Both these products would fit the theme of retirement and new adventures very well.

Like always, I´ve again recorded a star-to-finish video for you to watch. I hope you like it!

See you soon with another fun project share! Happy crafting!
xxx, Sanna

Hello Sunshine –– Summer Dreaming!

December 15, 2019

Good morning! Laura here today! It is very cold here right now and I am missing the heat of summer! Since it is winter and I can’t actually enjoy the summer right now I did the next best thing and created a summer layout!

To create this layout:

Step 1) Cut your papers, 1 at 12×12, 1 at 10×12 and 1 at 11×12 then ink the edges and assemble
Step 2) Die cut 4 circles of varying sizes. I used 5 1/4, 4 1/4, 2 3/4 and 2 1/4 in the stitched circles

Step 3) Die cut one sand castle and one palm tree then ink and assemble

Step 4) Die cut two tags and ink the edges – I used the tag from the planner essentials 7
Step 5 ) Die cut the filmstrip from planner essentials filmstrip

Step 6) Add your title and assemble

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Memories

August 2, 2018

Hi Friends, it’s Sandy Diller here to share a project that would be good as a keepsake or a gift.  I was in my local craft store a few weeks ago where I saw the cutest little box that contained a photo album.  I thought I would give it a try using my own measurements and decorations.  We recently took a trip to the beach so I thought this would be a good way to save some fun photos.
