December 24, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Holy Night Card.

To create my Holy Night Card, I’ve used a variety of the dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and Joset Designs as well as stamps from Sue Smith. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. Choose two piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence The Book. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4 3/4″ Stitched Indented Square. From the second patterned paper, die cut a 4 1/4″ Stitched Indented Square. On the 4 1/4″ square, tear in a bit of the paper on three of the sides. Distress the edges of the squares. Ink the edges of the squares using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose another piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence The Book. From the patterned paper, die cut a 4 1/2″ Fitted Indented Square. Distress the edges of the square. Ink the edges of the square using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Choose another piece of patterned paper out of the Reminiscence The Book as well you will also need the patterned paper you used for the 4 1/2″ square. From the patterned paper you used for the 4 1/2″ square, die cut a 1″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail. From the other patterned paper, die cut a 3/4″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail. Cut the 1″ fishtail down to 4 1/4″. Cut the 3/4″ fishtail down to 3 3/4″ Distress the edges of both fishtails. Ink the edges of the fishtails using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Reminiscence the Book, you’ll need a piece of cream paper. Die cut the plain globe from the Planner Essentials 28 – Globe die out of the cream paper. Die cut the detailed globe out of Champagne Foil paper. Using a felt applicator, apply Mushroom alcohol ink to the detailed globe as desired. Distress the edges of the cream globe. Ink the edges of the cream globe using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. From the Snowy Windows die, die cut the one of the small snowflakes once and die cut the other small snowflake twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the one of the small snowflakes once and die cut the other small snowflake twice out of Silver Foil Paper. Using a felt applicator, apply Mushroom alcohol ink to the silver snowflakes as desired.

Step Six. You’ll need the Holy Night stamp from the Noel Stamp Set. Apply Emboss It Ink to the stamp and stamp onto a piece of vellum. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped words. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Once the stamped words have cooled, cut the word into a strip.

Step Seven. Adhere the 4 1/2″ square to the 4 3/4″ square. Foam square the 4 1/4″ square to the 4 1/2″ square.

Step Eight. Adhere the 1″ fishtail 3/8″ from the left and all the way to the top of the 4 1/4″ square. Adhere the 3/4″ fishtail 7/8″ from the left and all the way to the top of the 4 1/4″ square.

I need quite a big pile for friends and family each year and it has become a tradition to make sure they are all handmade and every single one is different. Quite a challenge, right?
