Valentine’s Day Tag… And Secret Recipe For Extra Sparkle

February 11, 2020

Hi there! It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this cute Valentine’s Day Tag:

Step 1: Die Cutting

  • Cut out the cupcake and some hearts with the help of the Peek a Boo Love set and two of the smaller tags from the Planner Essentials 2 set from white Soft Finish Cardstock

Step 2: Adding Color

  • Color the cupcake and the hearts with Alcohol Markers

Step 3: Creating the Background

  • Add color with Distress Oxide Ink (Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers) and a Mini Ink Blending Tool
  • Cut the colored tag apart by using one of the Valentine’s Edges dies
  • Puzzle the pieces together on the second tag
  • Cut out additional little dots, color them red and puzzle them into the openings

Step 4: Stamping

  • Add more texture to the background by stamping the XOXO from the Love Sentiments Set with Versafine Clair Morning Mist

Step 5: Finishing Touches

  • Add some highlights with a white gel pen
  • Dye a piece of seam binding with Distress Ink (Picked Raspberry) and thread it through the hole of the tag

Secret Recipe!

  • Mix some transparent Craft Drops and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to create your own glitter paste
  • Use a stylus to add it to the little red dots on the tag (It’s hard to capture the sparkle in a photo but I’m sure you get the idea!)

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial for this Valentine’s Day Tag! Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine’s Day Card

January 23, 2020

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here! I’m so thrilled to be able to continue sharing projects as a guest blogger here on Elizabeth Craft Designs blog again!!! For today’s post I wanted to create a Valentine’s Day card as sweet as sugar, but one that is still really easy to make… just in case you want to make a series of them!

Here is how to create the card:

Step 1: Pick several sheet of Soft Finish Cardstock in various pink and light purple tones. I used a dark and light pink one as well as a very light purple/lilac tone.
Step 2: Die cut borders from the chosen cardstock colors – one border set per colour – using the Valentine’s Edges die cut set.
Step 3: Next adhere a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto a piece of white cardstock.
Step 4: Die cut the white, adhesive covered piece using the solid heart die of the Heart Cutouts die cut die.
Step 5: Next die cut the inner piece of the Heart Cutouts heart from the dark pink Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere these pieces together.
Step 6: Place the heart into a coffee filter and pour Bright Cranberry Silk Microfine Glitter over the tiny hearts and brush the residue off with a paint brush. Pour the residue back into the glitter jar and polish the glitter using your finger.
Step 7: Take a piece of black cardstock and stamp a Valentine’s sentiment with embossing ink – using the Love Sentiments clear stamp set – and heat emboss using white fine embossing powder. Fussy cut – or use a banner die cut die – into right size.
Step 8: Adhere all pieces onto a white card base using Clear Double Sided Adhesive tape for the border pieces and the heart and 3D foam for the sentiment. Decorate with Craft Drops (optional).

I’ve also recorded a short process video for you to watch to give you a better idea on each and every step! I hope you enjoy it!

Wishing you a lovely, crafty day!
xxx, Sanna

You Complete Me

February 21, 2019

February!…the month of love and romance! Hello. It’s Samantha sharing my You Complete Me card using Elizabeth Craft Designs Puzzle Heart die and Love Sentiments Stamp set. February happens to be my Wedding Anniversary month – so for me, it’s a doubly romantic time of year and a wonderful excuse (not that I need one) to create cards for the heart.

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Die cut the two piece Puzzle Heart die using pattern paper and corrugated card stock.

Step 2: Adhere the detailed puzzle pieces to the corrugated heart.

Step 3: Stamp the sentiment on Kraft card measuring 7 cm x 2 cm.

Step 4: Adhere the heart and sentiment to a 10.5 cm x 15.5 cm Kraft card front.

Step 5: (Optional) Add a detailed machine stitched border (using a combination of straight lines and zigzags).

Step 6: Using scissor, cut any left over pattern paper and corrugated card into small uneven strips and adhere these as shown to your card front.

Step 7: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the front of White Soft Finish Cardstock (measurement 3cm x 3cm).

Step 8: Die cut one heart puzzle piece.

Step 9: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of True Red Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 10: Use foam tape to adhere this puzzle piece to the card front. Embellish the card with sequins and a twine bow. Adhere card front to a A6 card base.

How did you celebrate Valentine’s Day? I hope you liked today’s card tutorial – give it a try and create something beautiful for that special someone in your life.

Happy Crafting!

Samantha
