Sweeter than Honey

January 16, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here. I love this bear and wanted to make a card that can be for Valentines day or anytime.

Preparation:

Cut and score an A2 card base from white cardstock. Using the second largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set, cut a panel from yellow cardstock. Using the second largest rectangle from the Fitted Rectangles, cut a panel from soft finish cardstock. Cut a “U” and “R” three times using the Planner Essentials 37 die set from yellow cardstock. Cut and assemble bees, bear, and honey pot from the Honey Bear die set. Cut a honeycomb from a scrap piece of cardstock, I used 1178-Honeycombwhich is an older die set. Other honeycomb options would be Side Kick Essentials 13 or the 1945-Honeycomb die set.

Instructions:
Using the honeycomb as a stencil, ink yellow ink onto the soft finish cardstock panel.

Adhere the soft finish cardstock panel to a the yellow Stitched Rectangle panel.

Adhere the three “U”s and three “R”s together and attach the card front. Also adhere the Honey Bear to the card front.

Using black ink, stamp the sentiment from the Bear Hugs stamp set.

Adhere the card front to the card base. Also add some of the bees to the front of the card. That completes the card.

Art Journal Collection Cardmaking Joset Designs Silk Microfine Glitter

Glitter & Templates

December 30, 2020

Karen here today, sharing a couple cards I made using Silk Microfine Glitter and the templates that are part of the Art Journal Collection. I also used some of the pretty papers and dies that are available here at Elizabeth Craft Designs. Now that Christmas is over, I thought I’d create a couple cards for Valentine’s Day!

LoVe the sweet Honey Bear die! He’s the cutest! I colored him with Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Antique Linen and a couple Copic markers. The Scalloped Heart die has a Fitted Heart Cut out of the center and is cut from Kraft cardstock. I then covered it with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive and used a stencil from the Pattern Stencil Pack. (The stencil really sticks – so do this with some caution!) With the stencil in place, I put down some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and then CAREFULLY removed the stencil and put down Antique Silver. Here’s a close-up of that pretty glitter.

The sentiment is from the Bear Hugs set and is cut with a Stitched Circle Die. The background paper is from the Reminiscence Book.

The next card used the Florals of Winter dies. The “edge” die is covered with Silk Microfine Glitter in Cool Diamond (with White Soft Finish Cardstock – 90 lb) and Silver using a different stencil. The flowers are also from the Florals of Winter dies and are painted with the ECD Watercolors. Again, the sentiment is from Bear Hugs and is cut with the Diagonal Stitched Fishtails die. The background paper is from the Mystical Winter Collection.

Thank you for stopping by!

Craftily yours, Karen

Your’re my Hero

May 12, 2020

Hi there,

It’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this super sweet Rainbow Bear Card.

Step 1: Creating the Background

  • apply Prima Marketing transparent 3D Matte Gel through the heart portion of the Make your Mark stencil
  • add color with the Watercolors – I used Vermilion, Orange, Lemon Yellow, Yellow Green, Prussian Blue and Mauve

Here’s the color chart that I created with the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Watercolor Set:

Step 2: Creating the Bear

  • cut out all the elements for the Honey Bear from white Soft Finish Cardstock
  • color the elements with Alcohol Markers and add extra shading with Distress Ink Ground Espresso and a Mini Ink Blending Tool and highlights with a white gel pen

Step 3: Putting it all together and adding a Sentiment

  • adhere the adorable little bear to the rainbow panel
  • stamp the sentiments from the Make your own Sentiment 1 set with Versamark onto two strips of kraft cardstock and heat-emboss them with WOW! Bright White Super Fine embossing powder

Have a wonderful day. And next week I am going to show you how to create a completely different project with that same stenciled heart panel.

Hugs,
