Just Breathe

May 16, 2023

Hi everyone, It’s Tina here. I played with the Stencil Planners 3 to create Background and topped it off with the Daffodils Dies and the Honey Bear Dies for the Bees. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/2″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Add Distress Oxide Inks onto a Gel Plate. I used Uncharted Mariner, Rusty Hinge, and Lost Shadow. Use a brayer to spread and mix the inks. Place a Planner Stencil 3 on top of the inks. Remove the stencil and trimmed White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ on top. Remove the cardstock and let it dry for a few minutes.

Step 3 – Diecut Stitched Indented Rectangles using the panel created from Step 2. To add dimension diecut Stitched Indented Rectangles 2 times and adhere to the back of the panel. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Daffodils in various colors of Cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kid’s Choice Glue. For added dimension add some Foam Tape to the backside of the Daffodils.

Step 5 – Diecut Honey Bear (bees) in various colors of cardstock. Assemble using Kid’s Choice Glue and adhere to card front using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Stamp Zen Sentiment on White Soft Finish Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Diecut the sentiment using Fitted Fishtails. Optional: flip the sentiment and diecut a second time on the other side. Now you have both sides with fishtails. Adhere to card using Foam Tape on the edges and 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape in the center.

This card can be used for occasions by simply changing the sentiment and/or colors. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Have A Bee-utiful Day Interactive Card

September 6, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I have a fun DIY Interactive Card to share with you using the Stitched Rounded Squares and a piece you will need to make. To decorate the card I used the Honey Bear Dies, Adventure Edges Dies, Monster 2 for the flower. Below is the steps to create your own card.

Interactive Card In Action!

Step 1 – Diecut Stitched Rounded Square (the largest one) using Light Blue Cardstock for your background, White Cardstock for the clouds and Green Cardstock for the grass. Using a score tool (I’m using a Scor-Buddy) score the Blue Diecut on the right side 1/2″ and another at 1/2″. For the White and Green Diecut score on the left at 1/2″ and again at 1/2″. Fold on the score lines and match the folds to my card example.

Step 2 – Diecut Adventure Edges (clouds) using the White Diecut from Step 1. Use 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive and adhere the left side only to the Blue Diecut from Step 1. Diecut Adventure Edges (grass) using the Green Diecut from Step 1. Use 3mm Clear Doube Sided Adhesive and adhere the left side only to the Blue Diecut from Step 1.

Step 3 – Create a mechanism that will appear as if it is flying. You can skip this step if you want. Follow the below diagram and adhere to the inside of the grass (bring the open end of the grass to the left) and align it the crease. I will add a photo or video in a few days so be sure to come back. Once the mechanism is dry attach the flap on the right side. You can also attached the flap on the right side for the clouds using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. (I forgot to take the photos as I was assembling. I will have a tutorial coming shortly).

Step 4 – Diecut Honey Bear in various colors of cardstock. Assemble and adhere on top of the grass using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut the green diecut again with the Adventure Edges (grass). Before adhering to the card Stamp any sentiment of your choice. I used the Bee Sentiments from an older release so this will apply to only people who have it in their stash. But any sentiment will do. Adhere to card front but leave about a 1/4″ without glue so you will be able to adhere the flowers.

Step 6 – Diecut Monster 2 (flowers) in various colors of cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 7 – Diecut Honey Bear (bumblebee dies). Assemble and adhere 2 to the card front and the 3rd one to the inside flip mechcanism.

As I mentioned above I will come back and add some pictures to add the mechanism. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Sending You A Bear Hug Card

December 26, 2019

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Now that the holidays are sort of over I wanted make a playful card using the Honey Bear and Asian Accessories Die. Below you will find the steps to create your own Sending You A Bear Hug card.

Step 1 – Trim Red Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Fitted Rounded Rectangles using the card base created from Step 1. Be sure to offset the die slightly past the fold. This is round all the corners while keeping the card 1piece.

Step 3 – Diecut Stitched Rounded Rectangles using White Soft Finish Cardstock. One die slightly smaller than card base. Doodle a pattern using any colour medium of your choice. I made a freehand checkered background and coloured it using Spectrum Noir Classique Alcohol Markers. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4 – Diecut Honey Bear using either coloured cardstock or White and colour in the colours of your choice. Assemble the Bear and bees using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Diecut Asian Accessories (the umbrella). I added some shading to the Umbrella using Spectrum Noir Classique Alcohol Markers. Adhere the Umbrella, Bear and Bees using Foam Tape.

Step 6 – Stamp Bear Hugs sentiment using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink on White Cardstock. Trim the sentiment and adhere on top of the bear arms using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

I love making patterns by freehand and using them as a background. Try it out and the fun part is you don’t have to doodle the entire panel. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Honey Bear Card by Melanie Smith

Hello friends,

DT Melanie here with today’s inspirational card I made for all of you. This is the very first time using watercolor markers so be gentle with me 🙂 My hubby adores bumble bees since he is a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket fan, so when he saw this a big smile came over his face. I hope it brings you a bit of happiness as well.

Everyone needs a little motivation at times and I think this “Reach for the Stars” sentiment was perfect for this stamp set.
