Cosmos Birthday Card

July 7, 2019

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a super easy card to share with you using the Garden Notes Cosmos die set. I just love this set because the Cosmos flowers come in a wide range of colors. The splashes of color on your card is sure to brighten anyone’s day. Below are the steps to create your own Cosmos card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2 size)

Step 2 – Diecut Dotted Scallop Rectangles using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Attach Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets on both sides of Fun Foam, remove the release sheets and adhere to card.

Step 3 – Add any watercolor markers onto an acrylic block. I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush colors Persian Blue and Light Green. Spray with water and place it on top of watercolor paper. Hold it in place for a few seconds and you have an instant watercolor background. Trim to 3 1/8″ x 4 1/8″. Adhere it to Black Cardstock trimmed to 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ using 3mm Clear Double Sided Tape. Adhere the panel to the card front.

Step 4 – Diecut Cosmos using White Soft Finish Cardstock and color in using any color medium of your choice. I used Tri-Blend Markers Bright Pink and Orange. Assemble and shape the flowers using the Susan’s Garden 4pcs All Metal Tool Set. Optional – add Pollen Yellow to the center of the flowers. Adhere to card using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 5 – Stamp Banner Sentiments onto Black Cardstock using Versamark. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it using a heat tool.

Step 6 – Diecut Stitched Fishtail Banners using the sentiment created from Step 5. Adhere to card using foam tape.

This card can be used for many occasions by changing the colors, sentiment and background. Below is a link to all the products used.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Flowers For Mom

November 24, 2017

Hi Everyone! Angela Whelton here from Susan’s Garden Design Team. While I know this is the time of year when most people are working on getting Christmas cards completed, for me it’s the week that we commemorate my mom’s passing. It’s been a long time, 12 years already, but sometimes it doesn’t seem nearly that long ago. My mother loved wildflowers so for today’s card, I’ve chosen some of her favourites: Cosmos, Lilacs, and the new Black-Eyed Susan done in white so that it becomes a daisy, as suggested by Susan in one of her recent Facebook Live tutorials. (Susan streams on Facebook Live each week except over the holidays.) I’ve gathered the bouquet in the Victorian Teacup and Saucer.
