Winter Animals Christmas

December 24, 2018

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s Frances Byrne here today with another tutorial to share with you. It’s Christmas Eve … Santa will be coming tonight and I hope he brings you all something nice. For my tutorial today I have another Christmas card to share using a couple of the Krista Schneider stamp sets. (This is a fun card for last minute mailing, you could get a head start on next year’s cards, or simply skip the “Merry Christmas” sentiment and the card is suitable all through the winter…)

Shimmer Sheetz Sunday: Ten-Minute Christmas Cards with Removable Ornaments

December 2, 2018

By Judi Kauffman

I always seem to need just a few more Christmas cards (sound familiar?), so I’ve devised a strategy for making some that are simple and fast, but don’t look that way! Today’s tutorial is a trio that uses a non-traditional palette. I have lots of friends with taste as quirky as mine… I’m calling it a ten-minute card, but it probably won’t take that long.

I timed myself: Die cut two circles (2 minutes or less!), emboss and sand the smaller circle (2 minutes or less), add scrapbook paper to card front (1 minute at most), layer and complete the ornament (about 2 minutes), attach ornament to card front (30 seconds or less). This leaves a couple of minutes to unwrap and savor a peppermint patty while admiring your creation!

Snowflake Snow Globe Ornament

November 21, 2018

Hi Friends,  it’s S@ndy here today with a two-sided snowflake ornament for your Christmas Tree.  I used the Elizabeth Craft Snow Globe Scene die set in a little different way this time.  I didn’t add snow to this one but you could if you like.  These ornaments are the perfect size to use as a gift tag or embellishment, too.

Ho Ho Ho Santa Snow Scene

November 12, 2018

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s Frances Byrne here today with another Christmas card tutorial to share with you. I have been having fun this year creating a lot of snowy Christmas scenes using Distress Oxide inks to create my skies. Christmas where I live down here in Australia is in summer, so we enjoy a hot Christmas Day with cold lunches and probably swimming in a pool. As we don’t experience snow, it is fun to create snowy scenes on paper instead.

Rejoice Ornament

October 20, 2018

By Judi Kauffman

I enjoy making flat ornaments to mail as an alternative to greeting cards. They can go straight to the tree or hang in a window or on a doorknob. And now that it’s become something of a tradition for me, friends have come to expect them!

Suzanne Cannon’s new A Way With Words release includes a fabulous flourished candle die set that has separate pieces for a dimensional flame and dripping wax. The candle can stand alone on an ornament, but I thought the word ‘Rejoice’ added a nice bit of extra sparkle. And the lettering provides visual balance when tucked just beneath the candle – The letter ‘R’ almost touching the flourishes, but not quite.

Anyone Need Some Mittens?

October 6, 2018

The best thing about winter for me is layering up!  I love sweaters and cozy flannels…

Though I am too old for mittens, I’d take them if they were offered to me by someone as adorable as this penguin.  I keep using this die set because it is just so cute and so easy to use.  Today the penguin is holding a pair of mittens made with a die set from the new A Way With Words release.  Did you know that Elizabeth Craft Designs also sells self-adhesive velvet sheets?!  It’s a perfect match!  This card came together very quickly. In addition to being a fun card to mail, it would be an extra special way to hint at the contents of a gift box containing gloves or mittens!

Memories

August 2, 2018

Hi Friends, it’s Sandy Diller here to share a project that would be good as a keepsake or a gift.  I was in my local craft store a few weeks ago where I saw the cutest little box that contained a photo album.  I thought I would give it a try using my own measurements and decorations.  We recently took a trip to the beach so I thought this would be a good way to save some fun photos.
