Cheers Card

November 7, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Cheers Card.

To create my Cheers Card, I’ve used a variety of dies from Suzanne Cannon and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. Choose two pieces of coordinating Christmas Patterned Paper. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Indented Rectangle. out of the second patterned paper, die cut a 3″ Stitched Indented Rectangle. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. From a piece of coordinating cardstock, die cut a 3 1/4″ Fitted Indented Rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Four. Die cut the Cheers word out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Five. From the Entwined Circles, die cut the snowflake five times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply a Transp. Glitter/Gold Dot to the center of each snowflake.

Step Six. Adhere the 3″ rectangle to the 3 1/4″ rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/4″ rectangle to the 3 1/2″ rectangle.

Step Seven. Foam square the flourished frame to the middle of the 3″ rectangle. Adhere the Cheers word to the middle of the frame.

Step Eight. Adhere the snowflakes as desired around the word on the frame.

Step Nine. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3 1/2″ x 9 1/2″, score at 4 3/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Cheers Card.

Katelyn

Winter Layout and Christmas Card by Riikka

November 12, 2017

Hello there! It’s Riikka here today with another guest project! Or actually two, as always. Today I have a double treat as there’s this layout with a step by step tutorial and a card with video tutorial! Both of the projects are done with a winter theme or vibe. Both of the projects have a blue, white, grey color scheme, white splashes, and snowflakes. I also tried to add the winter vibe using Silk Microfine Glitter as frost and twinkly snow.

The layout is about the last princess birthday my younger daughter had. It was almost two years ago. Since then she’s gotten more into football and skateboarding. The Elsa dress I did for her for that 5th birthday fit well with the winter theme well, and she’s also a child of winter.

Gingerbread Christmas Wreath Card

November 3, 2017
Gingerbread Christmas Wreath Card

Although I love the traditional deep reds, greens and golds of the holidays, on this gingerbread wreath card I instead used brighter pinks, greens and purples to create a fun, kid-friendly Christmas card. To me, the vibrant colors remind me of the candy pieces that typically adorn gingerbread houses and people and really captures the “Candy Land” feeling. Yum!

Here’s how I made the card:

Chillin Snowman Birthday Card

October 12, 2017

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s Frances here and it is my turn to post a tutorial for the Die Cut Design Team. Today I am playing with a couple of the Becky Seddon die sets, Stylish Snowman and Reindeer, to make a winter birthday card. I have created a mama and baby snowman for this fun card. Becky’s Stylish Snowman die set comes with lots of different options to create unique snow characters. This design could easily be changed to become a Christmas card or card for a winter birthday just by using different sentiments.

I love pop-up cards, so I have used the new General Pop-Ups die set to create the base of my card. On the front I used a couple of the new A Way with Words dies. You can use all or part of what I have done when creating your own, depending on what you want to do.

Autumn Friends by Riikka

October 1, 2017

Hello and happy autumn! It’s Riikka here today sharing a couple of season-inspired projects with you. My first project, with the step by step tutorial, is a fall card, and my other project is a set of two ATCs. The ATCs are shown without instructions but they use the same techniques as the card.

I just love the warm, bright colors of autumn – the flaming orange and red and the golden yellow! When I saw the stamp set “Woodland Pals” I just knew it would be a perfect match to the autumn palette. So that’s how this pair of projects started.
