Create The Things Tag

January 27, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Create the Things Tag.

I’m loving all the different ideas and projects that I’ve been coming up with using Charlene’s beautiful stamp sets. For today’s project, I’ve create this tag, which uses a variety of Charlene’s stamps and a couple of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my tag at home.

Step One. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials – 26 die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Choose one of the reinforcement circles from the Reinforcement Variety Pack and die cut it out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Place the reinforcement circle over top of the circle on the tag. Sprinkle Turquoise, Rosebud and Spring Green Magenta Nuance over the tag. Spritz the tag with water. Dry the tag. Apply Emboss It Ink to the block stamp from the Journaling Elements and stamp on the tag as desired. Reapply ink as needed to the stamp, stamp a total of four times. Sprinkle White Wonder Embossing Powder over the stamped areas. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the tag. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Choose two of the flowers from the A Field of Flowers stamp set. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to each stamp and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the flowers using Scribble Sticks 1 & 2 and a waterbrush. Once the flowers have dried, fussy cut them out. Ink the edges of the flowers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Journaling Elements stamp set, you’ll need the heart stamp. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the stamp and stamp onto the watercolour cardstock. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp two more times on the same cardstock piece. Colour the hearts using Scribble Sticks 1 & 2 and a waterbrush. Once the hearts have dried, fussy cut eight out. Ink the edges of the hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the “Create the Things” sentiment from the Make a Wish stamp set and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut each word strip into a strip for a total of five strips. Ink the edges of the strips using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Adhere the reinforcement circle overtop of the circle on the tag. Adhere the eight hearts as desired on your tag.

Step Six. Use foam square to adhere the two flowers to the bottom left side of the tag as desired.

Step Seven. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the sentiment to the right side of the tag. To finish the tag, tie a piece of twine through the hole at the top of the tag.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Create the Things Tag.

Katelyn

Celebrate The Season

December 2, 2019

The 2019 Holiday Season is in full swing. That means lots of cards and gifts and, if you’re like me, you sometimes need a gift or card in a hurry –– this is just for you.

It’s Sandy and I have two quick and easy projects to share with you today. I like to get the most value possible from my crafting supplies, so today I will be showing you how I made a stencil using the Snowflake die set and how I used it to make a card and a gift tag.

I began by cutting the Snowflake die, using only the center portion of the die – you don’t need the outside edge, from a sheet of transparent film, the kind used for presentations (shown below). This works well because I’m using a wafer thin die but a thin packaging material could work also.

I cut the 8.5″ X 11″ sheet in half to fit in my die cutting machine and then cut the snowflake directly in the center. I made two stencils using the large and medium snowflake.

This is a 5.5″ square card so the appropriate size Stitched Indented Square was used along with the Stitched Rounded Square that is one size larger. You could easily make this card any size you prefer using these die sets.

After securing the stencil to the paper with some low tack tape, I began adding the color using a circulare motion in the center. The Picket Fence brushes were used here but a color blender could be used as well.

The second color was added using the same method. The colors I used are Distress Oxide Inks, Broken China and Wilted Violet.

I covered the entire panel using the same method.

The panels were layered together and ribbon was added with a cute little bow.

The word “Celebrate” was stamped and embossed using white embossing powder and then cut out using the banner die.

The banner was added to the ribbon and then all panels were added to the white card base. The corners of the card were rounded to match the rounded squares on the card.

For this clean and simple tag – I used the same stenciling technique and then added some sequines for a little bling. “Cheers” was added to give a festive feeling to the tag. Now I’m ready to party, how about you?

Thanks for joining me and HAPPY HOLIDAYS,

S@ndy

Love You To The Moon & Back Tag

October 5, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, I’m excited to be sharing with you my Love you to the Moon & Back Tag which features a variety of dies and stamps from Suzanne Cannon! To compliment the products from Suzanne Cannon, I’ve also used dies from the Planner Essentials and Els van de Burgt Studio.

See my step-by-step below –– I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step One. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials – 2 die out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two. Place the Butterflies & Stars stencil on the tag and using a blending tool with foam, blend Fossilized Amber Distress Ink through the stencil. Move the stencil as desired around the tag and blend ink through it.

Step Three. Die cut the Ornament from the Love, Joy & Peace Ornament out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the top portion of the ornament off.

Step Four. Die cut a 2 1/4″ Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply a sticky note a 1/8″ in on the left hand side of the stitched circle. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Moon & Back sentiment from the Soar Collection stamp set and stamp in the middle of the circle. Make sure that the majority of the moon gets stamped onto the sticky note.

Step Five. Die cut the Star spray from the Butterflies & Stars Sprays out of a piece of Sunflower Soft Finish Cardstock. You’ll need seven stars from the spray.

Step Six. Adhere the ornament to the stitched circle. Foam square the stitched circle to the right hand side of the tag.

Step Seven. Adhere the three of the stars around the Moon & Back sentiment. Adhere the other four stars as desired on the tag.

Step Eight. To finish the tag, tie a piece of twine to the top of the tag.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Love you to the Moon & Back Tag.
