Merry Day After Christmas

December 26, 2022

Karen here hoping your Christmas Day was filled with love and good memories. There’s no better way to preserve those memories than in a scrapbook! Creating pages using the Planner Essentials line is easy and fun! Today’s pages are for Day 25 of my December Day-by-Day album! (I created these pages right before Christmas, so I’ll add pictures to them later…)

I used a Planner Essentials 55 (over a Planner Essentials 4) for the front of the page. How fun are these file folder pockets. I added a strip of paper to each of the tops of the pockets and dotted the bottom to make sure they stood out. I used the Library Pocket Filler Cards (one of them is cut down to fit the page) for the tags and added the small heart from the Gnomes set to keep the cards from slipping down. I’ll add pictures to the tags soon. And, of course, you can see that I added a sweet Gnome too! That fun ribbon is from a present someone wrapped for me. I didn’t yet open the present, but I had to steal the ribbon off of it.

On the back of the page is a space for more pictures along with a Stitched Circle and another Gnome. All of the paper I used on these pages is from the Christmas Lives Here set, except for this green snowflake paper. Of course, no page is complete without some fun reinforcements. (I’m addicted to them!)

Craftily yours, Karen

December Day-by-Day

December 12, 2022

Karen here. I have SO much fun every year creating a day-by-day scrapbook for December using the fabulous Planner Essentials Line! What a treasure these scrapbooks are to look at in future years! This year, I’m getting a bit of a late go because I was on a road trip, but it sure does make the first few days easy to find pictures! I used Annette’s sidekick planner class for inspiration as well as the prompts provided in the ECD Planner Group on Facebook.

How SWEET is the new Santa Claus from Joset?! I used the Christmas Lives Here paper for the page base diecut from Planner Essentials 4 and added a panel (from that collection as well). The 2022 is from the FuN Alphabet Tabs collection. The word “days” is cut using the Planner Essentials 23 set.

The day 1 prompt is “Let the Fun Begin” and I sure did. The picture is when we had just started off on our road trip! The paper is again from the Christmas Lives here collection (that comes in the December Sidekick Class along with the Sidekick Essentials 25). The number, tab, circles and mittens are in the Sidekick Essentials collection.

Day 2’s prompt is “My Favorite Color.” When asked, I usually say “green” – but in this case, I was at the Grand Canyon on December 2, so I am using “Nature” as my favorite color. The Grand Canyon had amazing hues of tan, green, red, brown and grays. Beautiful! No page is complete without some reinforcements, in my humble opinion. I linked up all three amazing sets below.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

December Day by Day

September 16, 2021

Yeah I know I’m a little early on but oh it’s so much fun too!

It should be a little more spread out over the year but Christmas and Halloween are my favorite parts to create for.

This page is for my DDBD (December Day By Day)

The wish lists are there, and for me there is only 1 thing on the list.

I want……a white christmas. Snow!!!!

I made this page with the Planner Essentials 22 Top loading. He’s so much fun, one of my favorite die sets.

The paper I used is from Charlene and Ilse’s collection Mystical Winter.

And this super cute Santa, is from Joset’s collection. Wonderful to combine everything together.

The party just keeps getting bigger.

Here are the wish lists. The stamp is from my own collection, the text stamp is from E.C.D. CS157. So cute!!!

In the top loader I glued a package of a stamp set and used it as a shaker. There’s mica in it.

I made the text with the Planner Essentials 23 Retro alphabet trio.

The date is stamped in the background. For this I used the Long & Tall numbers with December stamped with the CS116 months. Unfortunately I no longer see it in the shop.

The page is finished with the snow stars from reinforcement pack 2 that have been edited with Silk Microfine Glitter Cool diamond.

This page makes me happy and I hope you do too.

Are you a little inspired again?!

Browse through the stuff you already have, there are so many fun things you can create…..let’s get started.

Thank you for your visit

With love, Marjolijn.

Quick and Easy December Day by Day Page Tips

December 3, 2020
Hello again, Annette Green here today with some helpful tips to make a December Day by Day album quickly and easily with some great new products from Elizabeth Craft Designs. My video below takes you through all the details.
As I describe in the video, Esther’s new paper collection is the key to making impressive and beautiful pages. These came together quickly and easily and make it look like so much more layered work than it actually was.

**Please note in the video that I incorrectly named the Sidekick Essentials die for the blank page. It should’ve been Sidekick Essentials 4 rather than 7. (Clearly, I have mixed up my die pieces!)**

December Day-By-Day Page Ideas!

November 28, 2019

It’s Esther here. December 1st is just a few days away, which means it’s almost time to start your daily #DecemberDBD journaling! (You can learn more about the December Day-By-Day Challenge here.)

Today, I’m here to share some ideas and tips for your #DecemberDBD journal. I recommend trying to add pictures to your pages each day –– from “normal” things like doing the dishes or groceries, and a full/empty fridge. It really doesn’t matter what you take pictures of –– everything you do on a single day is fine. It’s more about documenting each day, whether it’s work, sports, watching tv, cooking diner, babysitting, laundry, etc.

If you find yourself lacking inspiration on a certain day, here’s a list of some themes/ideas that might help:

  • Photo of your craft desk/room
  • Buy yourself a treat/something you really like to eat and try to make a stunning picture of it to use in your journal
  • Your favorite (Christmas) song
  • Decorating your tree
  • A black & white picture
  • Write a letter to Santa and hide it in your journal
  • Take pictures of December decorations in your area, or go to a garden centre or decorated shop to take pictures.
  • Wrapping presents
  • Create a tag
  • Your favorite (feel-good) movie
  • A selfie
  • Your pets or birds and other animals in the garden
  • Donate $5 to charity
  • Your favorite Facebook group ?
  • Christmas cards you are sending and/or receiving
  • Your front door or house
  • A recipe
  • Hot chocolate or a good cup of tea/coffee
  • Your dream house
  • Shopping list
  • Children/Grandchildren
  • Family tradition(s)
  • PJ’s all day –– staycation
  • Cleaning a closet or a room
  • The sky/the weather today
  • The kitchen
  • Work moment
  • What makes you happy?
  • Make a page with paint or watercolor
  • News: What’s happening right now –– local or worldwide
  • New Years wishes

If you are planning to journal through the full month of December (1–31st) to review the past year, you can also add things like: the best thing that happened last year, the saddest thing that happened last year, milestones, etc.

For our Dutch members there is also Sinterklaas on December 5th –– a great subject for your December-Day-By-Day journal/ planner!

I hope this helps give you a little bit of inspiration as we get ready to document our December! Don’t forget to join us on the ECD Planner Page on Facebook to see other crafters’ planner pages, and to share pictures of your own!

Happy Planning!

December Day-by-Day

November 18, 2019

Karen here today from Craftily Yours! Are you participating in the ECD Planner Facebook Group December Day-by-Day? I am! It’s fun and inspiring! I’m preparing as many base pages in advance. As I go through December, I’ll add pictures (and probably some fun embellishments). Today’s post shows several days. (I’ll also add the December date later since I don’t know what order they’ll be in!)
