Bunny and Cat

March 11, 2022

Karen here. Lately, I’ve been inspired creating cards to use similar colors and pieces to also scrapbook. For today’s post, I started with the adorable Bunny and made a card. Then, I just had to create a Sidekick scrapbook page.

I started by finding a card sketch on Pinterest to create this fun card with the Bunny. The Bunny is colored with Distress Inks in Tea Dye and Kitsch Flamingo. The bow is colored with Scattered Straw. The eyes and whiskers are colored with Copic C7, and the pink nose is a Copic R81. The triangles were made by using a Fitted Square die and cutting it in half and I added a couple Stitched Rounded Rectangles to the front. I added a couple Leaves and Branches die cuts at the top. With some ribbon, twine and pearls, I called this all occasion (but I’ll probably use it for Easter) card complete.

I then brought in the paper and the triangles to create this Sidekick page journaling fun times at Sacramento Rivercats games with my guy. The page base is cut from 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock with a Sidekick Essentials 2 die. He has a cap on that is from the Hats dies. The letters are in the Planner Essentials 23 set, and I added the “cute” stamp from the Moods set (because I think my guy is awfully cute!) No page, in my opinion, is complete without reinforcements, cut here using 101mm Double Sided Adhesive and the Reinforcement Variety Packs 1 and 2.

On the back, the focus is on these pictures that include my parents and my guys daughter since we really enjoy going to the game with family and friends. I used the triangle (again cut from a Fitted Square) as a pocket and added journaling that I cut with a Fitted Rounded Square die. The …’s are also from the Moods stamps, and I added some Branches and Leaves diecuts to the triangle pocket.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Purr-fect Day!

July 26, 2020

Hello and welcome! Samantha here with this purr-fect card featuring Elizabeth Craft Designs Cat die along with a few other fun items that work so well with this slim line card.

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Use washi tape to secure a slim line white card front (Card Measurement: 10cm x 21cm) to the craft mat. Next, position the stencil over the white card (leaving 1/3 white space on the top). Secure the stencil down with washi tape.

Step 2: Use a blending tool to blend in a generous amount of light pink ink over the stencil, through to the white card.

Step 3: Reposition the stencil, secure and repeat ink blending until the whole card front is full.

Step 4: Repeat steps 1-3 using dark pink ink. Repeat again using light grey ink. Over lap the ink blending where possible.

Step 5: Use grey and light pink card to die cut the Cat image.

Step 6: Assemble and adhere the cat to the top right corner of the card front.

Step 7: Use pink card to die cut the Planner Labels tag die. Resize the tag by die-cutting the bottom section only.

Stamp the sentiment. Adhere to the card front as shown in main image.

Step 8: Adhere Clear Double Sided adhesive to white cardstock. Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Silk Microfine Glitter (Fuchsia). Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Use this glitter card to die cut the small heart from the Planner Labels die.

Step 9: Continue to die cut the small heart section of the Planner Label die – use light pink and grey card.

Step 10: Embellish the card front with the hearts. Die cut the fish skeleton using white card. Adhere these to the card front. Embellish with sequins and a twine bow.

Hope you like todays card inspiration! Slim Cards are very in at the moment – simply by moving the stencil around you can create any sized card you wish!

Happy Crafting!

Samantha

Heard You Had A Ruff Day Card

May 29, 2019

Hi Everyone, It’s Tina here. I am so excited to share with you a card I made using the new release from Joset Designs. More character dies!!! There is a dog, cat, elephant, parrot and hippo along with a tent, camping accessories, fire accessories, hats, dog house and 2 stamp sets. Oh my! Below you will find the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Adventure Edges using a scrap piece of cardstock. Use it as a stencil to create the clouds by applying ink on the edges. I used Distress Oxide Tumbled Grass.

Step 3 – Apply Ink to a piece of White Soft Finish cardstock using an Ink Applicator. I used Distress Oxide Twisted Citron. Diecut Adventure Edges to the inked cardstock. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 4 – Diecut Dog using White Soft Finish Cardstock for all the pieces except the nose and eyes. For eyes and nose use Black Cardstock. Color in the pieces using colors of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Distress Oxide Walnut Stain for the ears and spots and Antique Linen for the body and legs. Assemble all the pieces using Kids Choice Glue. Use a black fine tip marker for the mouth and detail on the paws.

Step 5 – Diecut Dog House using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Distress Ink Vintage Photo directly to the dog house swiping up and down to create a texture. For the rest of the pieces apply ink using an ink applicator. I used Distress Oxide Aged Mahogany for the roof and door frame and the door in Distress Ink Vintage Photo. Adhere the door to the card at the bottom center then adhere the dog house with the dog back paws inside the opening using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Diecut Cat using White Soft Finish for all the pieces except for the nose and whiskers. Use Black Cardstock for the nose and whiskers. I also diecut the eyes from the dog dieset. Color in the pieces using colors of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Weathered Wood for the head, body, outer ears and legs. Distress Oxide Tainted Rose for under the nose area, inner ears and paws. Assemble all the pieces using Kids Choice Glue. Use a black fine tip marker for the mouth and detail on the paws. Before assembling the leg on the right add the bone from the from the Dog House dieset. For the eyes I used the circle as the color and the dog eyes for the oval centers you see in cats. Adhere to card on top of the dog house using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 7 – Stamp sentiment using Black Ink on White Soft Finish Cardstock. Diecut Stitched Fishtail Banners to the sentiment and adhere to card using foam tape.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the sentiment. I used a puny sentiment to show that the cat was teasing the dog. Below is a link to all the products used. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Tina
