Bee-utiful August Sidekick Planner

August 10, 2023

Hi everyone, Happy Friday! Katie here with todays Bee-rific Sidekick Planner, using Joset’s new ” Bugs and Butterfly Collection”. I have been having so much fun with this collection creating cute summer themed pages for my sidekick! So, grab a coffee or your favorited beverage and lets begin!

Step1: You will want to start creating your bees, honey pot and flowers. I cut all the images from solid cardstock except the wings they were cut from heavy vellum cardstock. Then ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and assembled as per the photo above.

Step 2: Cut two base pages from Sidekick Essentials 20 with your choice of coordinating designer paper.

Next, I took Pocket Page Fillers 2 and cut out a photo mat and adhered it to my page. Once my photo matt was down I adhered my month (August). Then I pop-dotted my Bee and Flowers!

Step 3: On the second base page, create a pocket using Planner Essentials #26 then ink and attach your pocket. Next, I adhered my honey pot and pop-dotted my Bee and Flower. I stamped out the word Bee-utiful and matted onto black cardstock and adhered it to the top of my base page. I created a few tags and added them to my pocket.

Last you will want to add your reinforcement rings to both pages.

Step 4: Last step, I always like to add a little splatter with heavy white acrylic paint.

If you have any questions in regards to these sidekick planner pages please send me a message via Facebook to Katie Porcina.

Have a wonderful day and happy creating!

Sunflower’s are natures smile- Planner Pages

July 7, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post! I seem to be on a Bee theme right now so I might as well keep it going! This time, I am bringing you a Sunflower Planner Page perfect for some of your garden pictures. So grab a coffee and I will walk you through how I created these pictures.

Step 1: You will want to cut out your right and left base page using Planner Essentials #39-Torn Paper. I used the G45 “Let it Bee” Paper. Next, I cut two rectangular mats, cut yours to fit your picture leaving a bit of an edge.

Step 2: Using the Washi Tape Reminiscence Tape #1 I ripped strips and placed it down on my page like above. I used the Washi tape on both pages.

Step 3: Cut some Honeycomb from the Art Journal collection die Honeycomb Dots #1849 and rip it up so its into pieces.

Step 4: I added some fussy cut sunflowers, flowers and leaves from the collection, and my Garden Word from the Seed packet collection. (I used a lot of foam dots, see picture below)

Step 5: On the second page you will want to continue adding a photo mat, washi tape, G45 card, fussy cut sunflowers and Honeycomb. You will notice on both pages some black string like fiber, its colored sisal.. I like to add a little texture on my pages to keep it natural.

Step 6: Ink some of your edges and add your reinforcement rings.

Step 7: My last step is to always speckly with heavy body white paint.

I hope today brought you some inspiration to add your pictures from your garden into your planners.

Have a wonderful day >Katie<

Cardmaking Everyday Essentials Uncategorized

This “Bee”! has a fancy folded card.

June 21, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. Today I wanted to feature a super cool fun folded card using Anette’s Greens Bee and flower die from her Everyday Elements. So grab a coffee and let me walk you through how to create this card.

Out of your favorite card stock cut out your Bee, and “Thanks” word. Ink your edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and assemble your Bee and word quote.

Out of the designer paper of your choice (I used Bee Happy by Echo Park) I cut out the green stem and flower heads, ink and assemble.

Using a heavy white card stock cut your base 5 1/2 x 8 1/4. Score along the 8 1/4 side @ 1″, 2″, 3″, 5 1/4″, 6 1/4″ and 7 1/4″ , next at the red lines cut as per above.

Next fold up your score lines, and pop out your folds as per picture below.

(Back part of the card)

(top view)

After you have your card folded, you will want to cut your front cover strips.

Cut-two black strips of card stock 1 x 4″ and two strips of designer paper @ 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ (Top and bottom)

Cut-two black strip 1 3/8″ x 4 and one strip of designer paper @ 1 1/4″ x 4 7/8″ (Middle piece)

Cut-two black strips the side of the card base 1 x 5 3/8″ and two strips of designer paper at 7/8″ x 5 1/4, ink and assemble as per picture above.

Next, using the Everyday Elements Postage Stamps, cut out a large postage die using black card stock and a yellow mat from the coordinating designer paper.

I attached my flower, and added some black colored sisal underneath the pop-dotted Bee. Add your word and speckle using heavy white acrylic paint.

Thank you for joining me with todays blog post, have a wonderful day!

Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal

July 14, 2021
Hello again everyone, Annette Green here to share my Garden-themed Mason Jar Junk Journal using the new Mason Jar Snow Globe special. The pages are a beautiful mix of papers, ephemera, sewing, fabric, vellum and kraft. I’ve created a Process Video (below) to share how it all came together along with some tips too, so I hope you have a moment to check it out.

The new set is SO much fun to create with. I’ve incorporated several stamp sets and a few additional dies in making this journal as well.

As I explain in the video, I’ve used both of the Reminiscence Books, with a few additional papers from Graphic 45. The big bee stamp is one I’ve had for years from Stampotique.

This is a nice thick album of about 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) before adding your photos or keepsakes.

The covers are made with a thick chipboard base and the rings I used are larger than the ones which come with the special. All the pages are cut from the Mason Jar die.

Some pages are cut from fabric like the one on the right (above). I’ve stitched around the edges on my sewing machine using a natural brown thread. Vellum seed packets slide under the band to hold seeds or keepsakes inside. I explain how I do all of this in the video.

Each page is unique in its style and texture. I’ve created a pocket for tags on this left page, and stamped the little girl for the right page.

To dress up some of the blank pages, I added various Journaling Cards from different Graphic 45 collections.

Watercolor paper sprayed with various Distress Sprays made the pine tress come to life on this page. I thoroughly enjoyed making this one-of-a-kind album and I hope you enjoy watching my process. All products I’ve used are listed below.

Father’s Day Scrapbook Page

June 17, 2016

Scrapbook

Hello everyone,

It’s Joset here today. Sunday is Father’s Day and because of that I wanted to share a fun Father’s Day project. My daughter is too young to create a scrapbook page for her dad so I created one for her. For this page I used a combination of  die sets from the Els van de Burgt Studio Collection to cut mats and frames for the photos and title block. They are so fun and easy to use and you can coordinate, mix, match and layer them if you have several of the same shape. I used Dotted Scallop Rectangles, Fitted Rectangles and Fitted Frames 1 Lace Rectangles. I chose a bright and happy color scheme and added Corners and Bees to tie things together.
