Ho Ho Ho Holiday Stocking Card

December 20, 2022

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. I can’t believe the holidays are just days away. This is my last post for 2022 so I decided to add some bonus cards. Below are the steps to create your own cards.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish to 7″ x 6″, score at 3 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 3 1/2″ x 6″. Place Planner Stencils 1 on top of panel and apply Versamark. Remove the stencil and sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder. Remove the excess and heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere to card front using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. (Planner Stencil 1 is no longer in stock so you can replace with Planner Stencil 3.)

Step 3 – Diecut Holiday Stocking using various colors of Glitter Cardstock. If you don’t have Glitter Cardstock you can make your own using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets and Silk Microfine Glitter by placing Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets on Soft Finish Cardstock. Remove the release sheet and add Silk Microfine Glitter. Remove the excess and burnish it with your finger. Assemble and adhere to card front using Foam Tape.

Step 4 – Stamp Holiday Treats sentiment using Versamark on White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool.

Step 5 – Diecut Diagonal Stitched Fishtails to the sentiment created in Step 4. Adhere to card front using a piece of Foam Tape on the left side and 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the right.

Bonus Cards

All the cards are using the same products but the colors and stencils are different. I used Planner Stencils 1 & 2 but it is no longer in stock. Instead you can use Planner Stencils 3.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 11″ x 4 1/2″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Diecut Fitted Circles using Masking Sheets and place on top of the trimmed Cardstock. Apply inks of your color choice using a Blender brush. Once done place Planner Stencil on top and using the same colors. This is called Double Stenciling. Remove the masks.

Step 3 – Diecut Fitted Indented Rectangles using the panels created in Step 2.

Step 4 – Stamp Holiday Treats sentiments to the panels created in Step 2 using Versamark. Sprinkle Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a Heat Tool. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Beautiful Baubles using Matte Cardstock for the baubles top and string. Beautiful Baubles is no longer in stock so you can use Classic Christmas Special Kit for the baubles top and use string or draw a line for the string.

Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Art Journal Collection Beautiful Blooms Cardmaking Uncategorized

Joyeux Noel

September 18, 2022

Hi friends….Michelle here sharing a Christmas card that could really work all winter long, just change the sentiment and you’re all good! I used the Noel Stamp Set from the Beautiful Blooms Collection for the main focus. I really love the greenery images included in this set.

Step 1: I started by stamping the large mistletoe image in black and brought it to life with some colour. I really love how in their florals, they have little black dots added into the designs….it’s a fun little touch! They are really hard to see here, as the darker green shades on the leaves kind of covered it up, but if you look close enough you can see the black dots. To add that interest back into the design, I added some dots with a white gel pen. A red glitter gel was added to the berries for some sparkle.

Once it was coloured I diecut it using the coordinating die, as well as 2 other black pieces to stack them together to add definition. This also makes it more sturdy than using foam adhesive alone. I also cut out a 4th using black cardstock to allow a black shadow to peek out from behind once they are all adhered together.

Step 2: For the background I used the large snowflake die from the Holiday Special Art Journal Kit, however instead of die cutting I dry embossed with it. To dry emboss with dies I use a silicone mat as a replacement for one of the hard plastic plates. This allows the pressure to emboss the image on my paper, but not enough so that it will cut through the cardstock. I love the texture this gives and the subtle background it makes as well.

Step 3: I added a little bit of very subtle blue ink blending in the middle and some flecks using a black gouache. The blue ink will give it a very soft halo effect once the image is placed back on the embossed cardstock. For the sentiment I white heat embossed the Joyeux Noel on black cardstock and cut it out using the coordinating dies.

Step 4: A strip of black and white striped paper from my paper scrap stash was added to the left side. The diecut image and sentiment were all added to the embossed background using a liquid adhesive and then to the cardbase with a piece of craft foam for an extra added bit of dimension.

This came together relatively quick. The longest part was waiting for the glitter gel on the berries to dry lol. I hope that this has helped to inspire you a bit and possibly get started on your Christmas/Holiday cards. This will be 1 less for me to this year!

I wish you all the most wonderful day and I hope you find sometime to sit down and create something wonderful!
