A Way With Words Joset Designs

Rejoice Christmas Shaker Card

Hi there,

it’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this festive Christmas Shaker Card.

Step 1: Die Cutting

  • cut out the necessary elements using the Snow Globe die set and the Rejoice word die

Step 2: Adding Color

  • add color to the different elements with Alcohol Markers and Distress Oxide Ink
  • add highlights with a white gel pen

Step 3: Assemble the Card

  • assemble the shaker element and fill it with some snowflakes
  • adhere the sentiment and the holly berries on top of the acetate

Rejoice Ornament

I enjoy making flat ornaments to mail as an alternative to greeting cards. They can go straight to the tree or hang in a window or on a doorknob. And now that it’s become something of a tradition for me, friends have come to expect them!

Suzanne Cannon’s new A Way With Words release includes a fabulous flourished candle die set that has separate pieces for a dimensional flame and dripping wax. The candle can stand alone on an ornament, but I thought the word ‘Rejoice’ added a nice bit of extra sparkle. And the lettering provides visual balance when tucked just beneath the candle – The letter ‘R’ almost touching the flourishes, but not quite.

“Rejoice” Festive Candle Card

Hello Crafty Friends!

‘Tis the season to start on those holiday cards!  I know, I know.  It is “only” October – but if you are anything like me, you have to rush make some last-minute cards right before the holidays.  I seem to do this every year!  However, with the newly-released A Way With Words dies and stamps I can get several beautiful cards produced quickly.  Today’s card can be easily reproduced with festive results.
