Joset Designs Soft Finish Cardstock Stamping

Sweet Raccoon

July 23, 2019

It’s Karen here today. I have been afraid of raccoons since I was a little girl. My family and I were camping at Big Sur, and when I went to take the garbage out at night, they jumped out at me! Ok, they were just there….but for a little girl, it was pretty scary. The brand new Raccoon die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, however, isn’t scary at all.

To create this card, I started with a piece of 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock and cut it in half to 4-1/4″ x 8-1/2″. I scored it and folded it down the middle. I cut the other half into two pieces at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. From one, I cut the Raccoon, and I used the other for the card front.

To create the card front, I first cut one of a new Snowflakes dies with 101mm Double Sided Adhesive on the back. I cut the snowflake in half and adhered it to the card front on either side. I then die cut it with the Stitched Indented Rectangles.

I die cut and colored the Raccoon as follows:

  • Face, body, legs, tail base, ear tops:  Copic C1 with a bit of R20 on the cheeks.
  • Tail stripes, bandit eyes, boots, nose, ear base:  Copic C7.
  • Nose: W0.
  • I added a small dot in the eyes using a multi-liner black pen.

To make him a bit easier to assemble, I adhered 101mm Double Sided Adhesive on the back of White Soft-Finish Cardstock before I die cut the pieces.

I then adhered the Raccoon to the card front, stamped the sentiment from the Joyful Wishes Clear Stamps and adhered the card front to the card base.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours,

Karen

Noone could be afraid of that adorable racoon. Great card. I like the snowflakes on the side. Good job, Karen. Always like to see your designs.
