Susan’s Garden Designer Challenge – October

October 10, 2017
Hi everyone!

The Susan’s Garden Design Team are back today with another fun Designer Challenge to share with you.

This month the challenge is …. Fairies at the bottom of the Garden – using either or both of Susan’s Garden Fairy dies when creating their card or project.

Susan’s Garden has two Fairy die sets, the Garden Notes Fairy – Rose Petal and the Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily, both of which can help add a little bit of magic to your cards.

For our Challenge today we are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website to 3 winners.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post below and answer this question: “If you had your own fairy to bring you a prize, what would be 3 products on your crafting wishlist?

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, October 13th, here on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Now let’s take a look at the wonderful creations our talented Design Team have created for the Challenge this month. For more information about the cards, click on the designer’s name under each card to be taken to the designer’s blog post and will open up in a new window.

Selma Stevenson starts us off with the adorable card above. To create her card Selma used Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily with Susan’s Garden Coreopsis, Fitted Ovals, Dotted Scallop Ovals, Pair of Leaves 1 and Little Words That Mean A Lot Clear Stamp Set. Selma used White Soft Finish Cardstock and Shimmer Sheetz for the Fairy’s wings and hearts around the sentiment.

Anita Kejriwal created this pretty pink card for the challenge. She paired the Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily with the Garden Notes – Lily 2 die set. For the layers of the card Anita chose the Dotted Scallop Rectangles die set and added a sentiment from the Little Words That Mean A Lot Clear Stamp Set.

Christine Pooler is next with a Christmas card for her challenge project. She used the Garden Notes Fairy – Rose Petal, Garden Notes – Whitepine Bough, Garden Notes – Small Poinsettia, Beaded Circle Frames and A Way with Words – Noel to create her card, as well as PanPastels and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Pavitra Chanchal created a cute fairy garden scene for her card today. She used the Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily, CountryScapes – Nantucket Arbor & Picket Fence. CountryScapes – Woods 3 Wheelbarrow & Leaves and the Berry Branch dies, along with Soft Finish Cardstock and a sentiment from the General Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

Our next bright and colorful card was created by Piyanki Biswas. She used the Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily, Garden Notes – Hydrangea 2 and the Entwined Ovals die sets, as well as Soft Finish Cardstock and PanPastels.

For our final card today Shalini Pahwa has a magical fairy card for us. Shalini has used Garden Notes Fairy – Tiger Lily; Garden Notes- Lily 2 and Garden Notes – Ivy Vine. Shalini has also used the Entwined Circles die set throughout her card and PanPastels to color her flowers.

Love the berry branch die–can think of so many uses for it. I have never tried the flowers, so that would have to be on the fairy list, too. That would have to include a lot of patience as a fourth gift, I’m sure.

All those fairy cards are magical. If I had a fairy, I’d wish for three Elizabeth Craft dies: Lacy Poppies, Entangled Ovals and Holiday Garlands.

My Fairy would bring me the Small Poinsettia die, Entwined circles and stitched ovals dies. Great cards!

Love fairies – have opportunity to make clay fairy garden and my greanddaughter has one – would like to add to hers. Three products is a really hard questions, but am thinking a full set of Copics, DIstress Oxide inks from Tim Holtz, and the Tiger Lily set. All great products and all on my ‘wish’ list.

Beautiful cards! If I had a fairy grant me three gifts, I’d choose El’s Double Sided Adhesive, the entire collection of the El’s Microfine Silk Glitter, and a Silhouette Cameo 3!

If there was a crafting fairy, I’m sure she would bring me the Pillow Box with Handle, Arrows, and Cupcakes! So many wonderful ideas here!

“If you had your own fairy to bring you a prize, what would be 3 products on your crafting wishlist?”

Loved the fairies and the way that you decorated them especially the one with the flowers on the arms. What a terrific team you have working for you.

Beautiful cards, adding the fairy in with the flowers just adds so much. My Fairy wish would be for The Tiger Lily Garden Notes Fairy, Poinsettia Die and the Woodland Pals Stampset. Thanks so much.

I just love the clever color combinations shown here – especially Pavitra’s use of patterned paper on the fairy, and Shalini’s unusual looking creation are so striking! I’m encouraged to let my inner fairy loose today. Thank so much, team, for all the gorgeous inspiration. Should my fairy grace me with 3 wishes, they would be: 1) A storage system for my copics, 2) A new craft room and 3) Els’ new berry branch die. Might as well dream big…

Piyanki Biswas card is so cute. I love that she used a patterned paper for the arms and legs of her fairy. It just so works. My niece says it reminds her of body art (tattoos). Anyway my 3 wished for items would be, Any of the Stitched Nesting Dies except the Rectangles, as I already have them. Any of the FASHION Stamp & die sets, and the MAGIC word die. Thank you ladies for a set of wonderful cards this week.

Love the cards from the design team; they are so very creative and well made. I guess in answer to the question of 3 products ; I have not tried prills yet or shimmer sheets, and I cannot get enough of that amazing kids glue . Hopefully my list is really not too taxing for my fairy to carry because good thing you didn’t say tool because I am wanting a heat press – and my Fairy might get a hernia bringing me one. Winners announced – Friday the 13TH – you must have to have the Fairies on your side lol.

Such delightful cards! Plus I love the larger sized cards! Now if I were to be so lucky to b given a gift, I would love the sentiments of Little Words That Mean A Lot. How precious are the sentiments with a bouquet of flowers…? Can you just imagine the recipient smiling ear to ear!?
