Hi Everyone! It’s Karen here. I’m absolutely loving the holiday release from Joset Designs! There are some adorable characters that make great Christmas cards. Like the ADORABLE penguin I used in today’s card.
Here are the steps to replicate the cards:
Step 1. From 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a rectangle measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″; score at 5.5″ and fold in half to create a top-fold card base.
Step 2. Die cut the Penguin scarf from pattern paper with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back.
Step 3. Die cut the rest of the Penguin from 85 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. (Tip: I cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock into four pieces and cover using the 4″ roll, so I always have some on hand.) Cut the body and the wings of the Penguin so the adhesive is on top. For the rest of the pieces, the adhesive should be on bottom.
Step 4. Color the nose and feet of the Penguin with YR 14 Copic marker.
Step 5. Cover the body of the Penguin in Silk Microfine Glitter in Black. Assemble the Penguin.
Step 6. Layer a triangular wedge of pattern paper and a strip of another pattern paper onto a piece of 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of 85 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. (The patterned paper I used is from the “It’s Christmas Time” 6×6 paper collection.) Die cut the piece with the second largest Stitched Rectangle Die to create a card front.
Step 7. Stamp the sentiment from the Cute Winter Sentiments on the card front using permanent black ink.
Step 8. Add the assembled Penguin to the card front using pop tape. Adhere the card front to the card base.
