Snowman Snowglobes

December 17, 2018

Hello everyone! It’s Sara here today, and I have a new project for you. I have create two wintery projects today as the weather here is totally freezing. I love the mountains and go skiing but I don’t like the freezing temperature so much.

Here are the steps I used to create my card:

Step 1 – Using the Snowman & Gift Stamp set with coordinating dies, stamp the snowman images onto Watercolor Paper using a light colored ink. Die cut the images using the coordinating dies. Die cut the snowman images again from a piece of fun foam.

Step 2 – Using the snowglobe dies from the Snowglobe Scene die set, die cut the frame from the light blue cardstock included in the ModaScrap Christmas Holiday Patterned Paper Pack.

Die cut the glittery ring from a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover the adhesive using Pebble Blue Silk Microfine Glitter from the Beach Palette pack. Return excess glitter to the jar and polish the glitter into the adhesive using your fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Die cut the remaining pieces from the Snowglobe die set from White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 4 – Use the no line technique to color the snowman with watercolours. Adhere each of the snowmen to the fun foam using adhesive. (The no line technique lets the stamped lines ‘disappear’ when colors are added and blended because a very pale color ink was used for the stamping!)

Step 5 – Create the background by using Distress Inks in Chipped Sapphire, Stormy Sky, Black Soot and Seedless Preserves. Add some drops of water to the inked background to create a snow effect.

Step 6 – Color the trees using watercolours and then spread some white modelling paste on them to create the look of snow.

Step 7 – Assemble the cards as shown in the photos above, adding some foam tape between layers to create the dimension.

I hope you enjoyed my project today and will try and create your own version.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sara
