Need some easy, fast gift ideas? Feel like getting ahead with stocking stuffers, presents for friends and family? My recommendation: Enjoy a lazy browse through the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog archive and you’ll find MANY Shimmer Sheetz embellished boxes, tissue boxes, journals, notepads, and trays, plus cards, ornaments, jewelry, and more. Each tutorial includes a supply list and instructions!
Some of the dies and many of the embossing folders I used may be discontinued, but they could be right there in your collection. (I hope so, but if not it proves that if you see something you like it’s a good idea not to wait too long to shop…) And it’s easy to make substitutions. Elizabeth Craft Designs has plenty of flowers and snowflakes.
Use these project photos from the last three years to help you get inspired. Have an old tray, tin or box that needs a facelift? Get it out and turn it into something unique and special. A bit of paint or some alcohol inks, Shimmer Sheetz and Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet or Tape, a die or two, will be all you need.
The projects are so simple that you may not even need to find the instructions! For example: The tree (the only project that was not a blog project…) is a series of wooden strips randomly nailed together, painted green and embellished with embossed and lightly sanded Peridot Shimmer Sheetz. Ornaments on the tree hang from pushpins. The red tray is a dollar store “find” with a pieced Shimmer Sheetz circle and embossed strips decorating the interior.
Flat Shimmer Sheetz ornaments are easy to mail and make a great alternative to a holiday card. They’re lightweight and durable!
