Scarecrow Scene

October 21, 2018

Hi everybody, Angela here with a guest blog post.

It’s hard to believe that we are already approaching the end of October. Thanksgiving has come and gone here in Canada and Halloween is just around the corner. But this weekend what is most striking is the colour of the leaves. It seems to me that this year they’ve lasted a little longer than usual, something about which I’m really happy. There may be a drive into the countryside in my very near future.

I’ve been having a lot of fun with Susan’s CountryScapes dies recently so today’s card is a fall scene created using several different sets: CountryScapes Flora 4, Woods 3, Build a Scarecrow, and Land and Sea, along with the Earth and Sky stencil.

Here’s what I did:

1- Die cut out all necessary pieces from 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use patterned paper for the scarecrow clothing.

2- Using Copic markers, colour all pieces.

3- Shape tiny leaves with leaf tool and the rubber mat.

4- Cut a 6″ square card base from 100lb pound White Soft Finish Cardstock, a 5 3/4″ square background panel from coloured cardstock, a 5 1/2″ square white panel and a 5 1/2″ square straw coloured panel.

5- Using the stencil and blue ink, create a cloud background on the top half of the white panel.

6- Cut the Land and Sea die toward the top of the straw coloured panel and colour using Copic markers.

7- Using double sided adhesive, layer the panels and attach to the card front.

8- Using Kids Choice Glue, adhere scene pieces to card front.

The best part of the CoutryScapes series is the infinite number of personal scenes you can create. Have fun!
