Pop It Up Wednesday – Hot Air Balloons

April 20, 2016

Hi!  It’s Fran from Karen Burniston’s Design Team and it’s time for another Pop It Up Wednesday!  Today I’m sharing a Pop It Up Hot Air Balloon card.

This card started with a 6 x 12 base of Sunflower Soft Finish card stock, folded in half.  The patterned paper is cut 5 x 6 and adhered to the front.  I stamped the sentiment on a 1 x 4 piece of White Soft Finish card stock, flagged one end and adhered it to the front with foam tape.  Then I added the enamel dots.

This is the inside.  I used the Pop It Ups Hot Air Balloon die to make a balloon that coordinates with the balloons already in the paper.  To do the inside, I cut another piece of the Sunflower Soft Finish card stock 6 x 12 and folded it in the center.  Using temporary adhesive, I attached a 5 x 6 piece of patterned paper to the top section, centered my pop up piece and die cut them together. PIU Hot Air Balloon 03 step 2

I removed the patterned paper and cut away the section shown and then attached it to the inside of the card.

I die cut the balloon from various patterns, inked the edges and attached it to the Pop Up.

To finish the inside, I used the scallop from the Pull Card Edges to decorate the bottom edge of the white block and stamped my sentiment from the What’s Up Clear Stamp set.
