Poinsettia Tags, Place Cards or Ornaments

October 4, 2018

Hello Crafty Friends, I hope you are well. Marilyn here and the project I want to show you today is a versatile one that can be used as Christmas gift tags, as place cards for Christmas dinner, and when finished as a tag/place card you can remove the sentiment and use the glittery poinsettias as tree ornaments. It’s quite simple to create!

Below are the steps used to create the tags:
Step 1: Attach the Clear Double Sided Adhesive to a sheet of clear acetate.

Step2:  Using the two smallest dies from the Christmas Flower die set cut one small and two with the next larger die.

Step 3: Remove the protective backing from the adhesive tape on the smallest and one of the largest die cut flowers and cover the adhesive with True Red Silk Microfine Glitter.  Brush off and return excess glitter to jar. Polish the glitter with your fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. (Tip: To avoid getting glitter where it’s not wanted, make a glitter work tray like Els van de Burgt shows in her YouTube tutorial.)

Step  4:  Repeat with Spring Peridot Silk Microfine Glitter on the remaining die cut poinsettia.

Step 5: Using an embossing heat tool, heat petals one at a time and while warm, give each petal a gently curved shape. Repeat for all. Tip: Be careful not to burn yourself or overheat and burn/discolor the glitter. Use tweezers or toast tongs to hold the die cuts while heating and press to shape with a stylus, not a fingertip.

Step 6: Layer and glue all 3 pieces together. Accent with a gold button with shank removed before it’s glued in place so the back is flat. Allow glue to dry. (Alternative to wet glue: Adhesive tab.)

Step 7:  Use the smallest Stitched Rectangle die to cut a tag.

Step 8:  Stamp greeting; heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Adhere flower to tag with a clear glue dot.

Your creation is done!  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy today’s post.
