Hi there, it´s Sanna here today sharing a set of cards, created with the inlay pieces of the Honeycomb die.
I always like to save all the bits and pieces I have left from my previous projects as they are perfect for various projects. These inlay pieces of the Honeycomb die cut die create perfect backgrounds for cards. Here is what I did:
Step 1: Take a 14 x 10 cm sized piece of white cardstock and color it with Brusho.
Step 2: Take the Honeycomb die backing and use it as a position guide for the inlay pieces. Place it on top of the bold background and start adhering the inlay parts. This way the distance between the inlay pieces will stay the same.
Step 3: Ink the inlay pieces with blue Distress Ink and cut 6 pieces with the Lollypop piece.
Step 4: Before adhering these piece on their places, ink them with red Distress Ink.
Step 5: Attach some green rhinestones into the middle of each Lollypop piece.
Step 6: Stamp the Seed of Thought Red Rubber Stamp – Take Time stamp sentiment with black ink onto a piece of white cardstock, ink with blue Distress Ink over it and adhere it to the card.
For the second card, follow the previous steps, except start by coloring the inlay pieces with yellow, red and green spray ink. Ink the background blue (or use Blue Soft Finish Cardstock) and add some black ink splatters onto the background before gluing down the blue inked Lollypop parts. This is how the finished cards look like:
I find it really interesting to use both the positive and the negative pieces of the die cutting process. There are so many possibilities to use the die cut dies and by changing the colors even the same card idea can be transformed into a totally new look.
Have fun creating,
Sanna
