Let Your Heart Be Light Wall Hanging

November 2, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, I’m thrilled to be sharing with you my Let your Heart be Light Wall Hanging, which features the brand new collection of stamps and dies from Suzanne Cannon! To compliment the products from Suzanne Cannon, I’ve also used dies from Els van de Burgt Studio.

See my step-by-step below –– I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step One. Die cut all the pieces from the Flourish Holly die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Candied Apple Distress Ink over the entire surface of the berries. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Peeled Paint Distress Ink over the entire surface of the flourished holly and single see through holly. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Mowed Lawn Distress Ink over the entire surface of the two holly leaves.

Step Two. From the Love, Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament, die cut the ornament out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the ornament and sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Three. Die cut the snowflake three times from the Flourished Christmas Minis 2 out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Four. Die cut the Flourished Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Five. Choose two patterned papers that coordinate. From one of the patterned papers, die cut a 4″ Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. From the other patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle out of the paper. Distress the edges of both pieces. Ink the edges of both pieces using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. Apply Candied Apple Distress Ink to the Let your Heart sentiment from the Let Your Heart be Light stamp set and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the sentiment out using the 2″ Stitched Circle.

Step Seven. To support the wall hanging, cut a piece that measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ out of thicker cardstock or a bingo card. Ink the edges of the piece using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Adhere the 4″ stitched rectangle to the 4″ base. Adhere the flourished frame to the 4″ stitched rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle to the 4″ stitched rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the three snowflake randomly on the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle.

Step Ten. Adhere the ornament to the stitched circle. Foam square the stitched circle to the middle of the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle.

Step Twelve. Adhere the flourished holly together. Adhere the assembled flourished holly to the top of the ornament.

Step Thirteen. To finish the wall hanging, add a piece of twine to the back of the wall hanging.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Let Your Heart be Light Wall Hanging.
