Silk Microfine Glitter

Hexagon Leaves

July 30, 2018

Hi Everyone! Marilyn here with a card I made using the Stitched Hexagon, Trio of Leaves and Words 2 die sets. You could use any sentiment for this card so it is versatile and would work for many different occasions. Please forgive the glare in some of the photos – I recently purchased a glass mat and didn’t realize how badly the light reflected until I was watermarking the photos.

Below are the steps I used to create the card:
Step 1: Cut a 5.75” x 11.5” rectangle from white cardstock, score and fold in half at 5.75” to create a 5.75″ square card base. Cut a 5 9/16” square from green cardstock and a 6/16” square from white cardstock.

Step 2: Using a piece of white scrap cardstock, sponge in Bundled Sage and Wild Honey Distress ink. Spritz with water.

Step 3: Die cut 3 hexagons from inked cardstock.

Step 4: Tape a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to the front of a piece of white cardstock. Die cut the leaves and sentiment.

Step 5: Remove backing sheet to expose the adhesive with Miner’s Gold Silk Microfine Glitter. Gently polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. (Be careful not to polish too vigorously to avoid tearing the thin portions of the stems!)

Step 6: Assemble card by gluing/taping green cardstock to the card base, topped with the white square. Arrange and adhere hexagons, leaves and sentiment.  Tie a bow with jute or ribbon and glue to the spot where the stems overlap. Add some enamel dots and your card is finished!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to have some fun making your own version of the card!
