A Way With Words ModaScrap

Forever Friends

Hello My Crafty Friends,

It’s Christine here today sharing a card I created for my dear friend since high school (my 50th class reunion is this summer, hers was last summer).   We now live an hour and a half apart but try to meet halfway for a day of shopping, eating and catching up every so often.

Here is how to make your own version of my card:

Step 1 – Cut 1 set of Garden Notes –  Leafy Berry Branch 1 from green cardstock.   Shade with Distress Ink. Lay right side down on Molding Mat and use the medium ball tool from Garden Notes 4 pc All Metal Tool Kit to rub the back of the leaves, shaping them. While the branch is still right side down, add berries using Nuvo Crystal Drops in Autumn Red. When dry, turn the branch right side up and add berries to the other side. Set aside to dry again. (Tip: Susan Tierney-Cockburn makes 2-sided berries like this, but it’s okay to just add the Nuvo Crystal Drops to the front if you prefer.)

Step 2 – Create 5 Garden Notes – Cornflower/Bachelor Buttons from White Soft Finish Cardstock.  Color  center using PanPastels Set 1 or alcohol markers. Shape using Susan’s 4 pc. All Metal Tool Kit, Molding Mat and Leaf Mat.  See Susan’s video for reference here

Step 3 – Using 2 different shades of green cardstock cut Garden Notes – Ostrich Fern and Garden Notes – Ladder Fern.  Pinch up on fronds a little to give dimension.

Step 4 – From black cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back, die cut 2 each of A Way With Words Forever and A Way With WordsFriends. Stack each pair and adhere to create dimension.

Step 5 – Create 6 X 6 top-fold card base from white cardstock.

Step 6 – From White Soft Finish Cardstock using ModaScrap – Dashing Squares largest die, cut 1 square.  Emboss with embossing folder of choice. (You will need a folder that is large enough to fit an entire 5-1/4″ square, or will need to emboss one half at a time.)  Adhere to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 7 – From green cardstoc, die cut largest circle using ModaScrap – Dashing Circles.  Adhere to center of card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 8 – Using Kids Choice Glue adhere ferns, berry branches, bachelor buttons and leaves.

Step 9 – Adhere Forever above the bouquet at the top of the circle and Friends at the bottom as shown in the photo.

I hope that this tutorial has inspired you to create your own card.

Thanks for stopping by, and until next time – Happy Crafting!

Christine

Your card is gorgeous. Your friend should put it in a shadow box frame and hang it. Thanks for sharing.
