Family Layout By Laura

February 13, 2018

Good morning!

I am excited to show you my newest layout for Elizabeth Craft Designs!

I love to make flowers and the fabulous dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs make it easy and fun.

Step 1: Gather supplies – 2 sheets of 12×12 paper; smaller pieces or additional 12×12 sheets for accents, die cutting, fussy cut images, and flower making; burlap; adhesive.

Step 2: Cut second sheet of paper to 11.5×11.5 and cut a photo mat.

Step 3: Fussy cut desired images.

Step 4: From coordinating papers – Die cut one Love, Life Tag with heart and one with tree; Free as a Bird bird cage and bird; Bunch of Flowers 3– each one twice; Big Flower Set 1 twice; leaves from Color My Flowers three times;  Amazing from Words 2- Thinking of You die set. Ink the edges of all pieces

Step 5: Using two different size heart dies from the True Love set and a medium size circle die from the Stitched Circles set, cut two hearts and a circle from red burlap.

Step 6: Layer, assemble and shape all of the flowers.

Step 7: Adhere the two background papers. Arrange and adhere everything but the photo and flowers.

Step 8: Mat photo and adhere using 3D dots or foam dots for dimension. (Note that the left side of the photo is tucked under on of the fussy-cut flat flowers. Add the dimensional flowers.

To Make The Rose-like Flowers

  1. –  Cut the pieces with the Bunch of Flowers die set.

2. –  Using the ball end of stylus tool, press to cup all three layers of flowers.

3. – All three should look like the photo above.

4. –  Using the smallest flower die cut – glue two petals together that are across from each other to create the tight center. (It looks like the beginning of a rose bud.)

5. – Glue the other sides together to form a cone-like shape.

6. –  Glue the next petal fully onto the cone by applying glue at the base of the petal and pushing it onto the cone. Continue with the other two petals.

7. –  Glue the bud onto the middle size die cut flower and push up around the bud till it looks like the flower above.

8. – Glue the two layers onto the final and largest die cut pushing up around the bud as shown above.

Here are some close-ups of the project:

I love this page! I’m a scrapbooker at heart, so I like to see other people’s ideas. ECD dies are my favorite. They cut beautifully. Thanks for sharing!
