I like to “think out of the box” when crafting my cards. Last Year I used glow-in-the-dark paint to create an enlarged moon and had a witch flying through it, surrounded by ghosts. I was a HUGE hit.. This year I have a haunted house and will use the glow-in-the-dark paint in the windows.

Grands are getting older, so maybe next year’s batch will feature something really spooky. This year, I am liking pumpkins!!

I don’t normally use bright colors except at Halloween. I use orange, green and purple and lots of texture

  • Kathleen Miller September 19, 2017 at 2:39 pm

I love to make Halloween cards with costumed trick or treaters (stamps) and haunted houses (with a light or two in the windows) or rickety fences (die cut out of textured papers) in the background. Love the inky backgrounds used in the designer cards! Will try to imitate when I make this year’s batch of cards for great nieces and nephews! A five year tradition and counting!

  • Kathleen Miller September 19, 2017 at 2:35 pm

I love kids dressed in costumes with a dark haunted house or rickety fence. The contrast makes it fun and reminds me of trick or treating as a child – it was always a little spooky when it got dark with lots of costumed neighbors! Stamped figures for kids dressed up or witches are fun with the dimension of die cut fences and spooky houses (with just a light or two in the windows…..).

Great designs! Can’t wait to get my halloween cards ready for great nieces and nephews! My annual tradition!

  • Deane McPherson September 19, 2017 at 2:16 pm

  • Rhonda Miller September 19, 2017 at 2:15 pm

Glitter paper and glitter glue in Fall colors of black, white, orange, and purple are must haves. There’s nothing like a ghost cut out of white glitter paper with google eyes! Yellow glitter card stock also comes in handy to back up haunted houses and candles for a glowing effect. I also love any Halloween related dies and pattern paper….creating tags, gift card holders, and treat bags are my favorite projects!

I love to use spider web stamps, pumpkin dies and spooky tree branches either as dies or stamps. When I see that combination, I know that Halloween is near!!! You can use the spider webs by themselves, stamped on pumpkin or the trees, use as a background too! Lots to do with them!

  • Joela Pascoe September 19, 2017 at 9:33 am

I use black, purple, orange and green for my colour combinations mixed with haunted houses, ghosts, pumpkins and witches. As long as the images are not too scary for my grandkids, use scary images for my families cards. Your new ghost dies are awesome this year love the design of them.

I love Halloween and think it’s the most fun occasion to make cards for! I’d use ghosts, pumpkins and a black cat to make a Halloween scene! Thanks for all the wonderful samples here to inspire me!

  • DiAnn Soifer September 19, 2017 at 9:29 am

I love interactive cards, things that pop up or pop out, fold out, etc. So I like to look for pieces I can use together to make a scene. Love spooky trees and cute little characters, pumpkins, and owls. Fun!

  • Iva Rothman September 19, 2017 at 9:23 am

I love using haunted houses, bats, Ravens and a ghost here or there! Love the cards on the blog, they are wonderful!

  • Mary Puskar September 19, 2017 at 9:21 am

My favorite time of the year! I have to say I love a witch the best. So many ways and so many stamps and dies to use with the witch image.

  • Elizabeth Mill September 19, 2017 at 9:20 am

For my cards I love to layer the die cuts especially the tree. Truly makes the Halloween scenes Scarey. Ghosts hiding within the trees gives that extra scare.

  • LouAnn September 19, 2017 at 9:17 am

I love to use scary items on my Halloween cards.

  • Nadine Wallen September 19, 2017 at 9:15 am

The cards are adorable! Love using dies to create mine . Leaves and pumpkins galore

  • Kirsten Leavell September 19, 2017 at 9:13 am

I love the pop up house die by ECD Karen Burniston. You can really dress the house up to be a cute (not so scary) trick or treat/ haunted house. The cute fence that comes with it can be die cut in black and then it’s fun to add little ghosts and pumpkins along the fence. I love that die!!!

  • Debra Nigohosian September 19, 2017 at 9:13 am

    AESOME! Love all of these!

  • Ali September 19, 2017 at 9:11 am

I love witches at Halloween but I love the Iron fence with some nice black cardstock!!

  • Candy Ritchey September 19, 2017 at 9:09 am

I think a full moon, clouds and a fence of some sort are always necessary! Then any assortment of bats, pumpkins, spiders, and witches can be added!
I kinda love the pumpkin with legs and the candy corn with hats could be a new addition for me!!!!

  • Pam McClung September 19, 2017 at 9:08 am

What great, fun samples! I LOVE Halloween! I love combining stamping with fun Halloween patterned paper and also spooky embellishments. You can really let your creativity go for Halloween.

  • Marilyn H September 19, 2017 at 9:07 am

I love all the projects. To make mine, I like to use not only stamps, but lots of die cuts/chip. Halloween is tied w/Christmas as my favorite time of year.

I’m lovin’ the bridge card at the top of your blog! I have made a few of these and they are fun to create! I especially like the dies you have to create these scenes.

  • Theresa September 19, 2017 at 8:38 am

Oh my goodness! All those cards are so adorable – really put me in the mood to make Halloween cards!! For my cards this year (while hard to pick), I think the favorite ECD product will be the wonderfully intense black, orange, purple and green cardstock that coordinates so well with the patterned paper.

  • Theressa Hudspeth September 19, 2017 at 8:36 am

Because of the short planning time for Halloween cards I tend to use my Cricut to make most of my Halloween cards

  • leslie cernocky September 19, 2017 at 8:12 am

The cards are great. I guess the only time I crafted for Halloween I made coffin boxes for snicker bars and use recycled paper grocery bags. It made the cynical teenagers that went trick or treating put on a genuine smile thu there indifferent mask.

  • Sherry norte September 19, 2017 at 7:53 am

On my Halloween cards I love to use the orange and black card stock with the ghosts
And black cats and the haunted house.
    I love all the samples.
