Cardmaking Charlene Stamps Elizabeth Craft Designs General Soft Finish Cardstock

Create The Things

September 22, 2019

Hi Friends! It’s EK and I am back once again to share how I colored up another one of Charlene’s new 6×8 inch stamp sets. Today I am playing around with the new Make a Wish stamp set. This is a really stunning stamp set filled with feathers and floral images. But hands down my favorite thing about this stamp set is the gal in it. What do I love about her? Well, I think she could be anybody. She could be any girl you want her to be. She can be brave, or curious, she could be sad or celebratory. She can be you or your best friend.

So I today I am creating a card that is wishful…for what, I haven’t fully decided yet, but I love how the feathers help create the feeling I as going for.

Step One: Trim a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to 6×6 inches. Then Using a copic friendly ink, stamp the feathers from the Make a Wish stamp set all over the cardstock. I choose to use a collection of four colors to color up the feathers, so I planned out where each color would go. You can see where I marked each of the feathers with the lightest colors so that I did not accidentally color two feathers next to each other the same.

Step Two: Finish coloring up the feathers. I used a collection of earth tone copics to finish this card. The four collection of colors I used were as follows: E11, E13 and E15/ E40, E42, and E43/ E70, E71 and E74/ and finally E93, E95, and E97. I also used my E40 collection around the edges of the cardstock.

Trim a piece of Cafe au Lait Soft Finish Cardstock to 12×6 inches. Score and fold the cardstock to make a 6×6 card frame. Adhere the feather cardstock to the card frame using some 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step Three: On a piece of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock (my favorite weight paper to fussy cut), stamp the image of the gal from the Make a Wish stamp set using copic friendly ink. Then color the image. I used E23, E35 and E57 for her skin tones, E23, E25, and E27 for her hair, and E07, E09, and E19 for her dress. Fussy cut out the image. Adhere the girl to the feather image.

Step Four: Stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Mustard Soft Finish Cardstock. Then die cut the sentiment using the Fitted Indented Square die set. Adhere the sentiment to the card.

I like that this card really could be used for almost any occasion. It is a nice one to have lying around for when you have an ‘opps, I need a card’ moments in life.

Let us know in the comments below what things you would created that you wished existed. Until then, happy crafting.
