Hello everyone, It’s Joset here today sharing some fun and easy Christmas Tree Decorations. They are all made out of felt in combination with Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive. I created a guirlande simular to Frances Byrne’s Christmas Banner from last week. For the ornaments I used a few different Christmas/Winter themed dies that I thought would be fun to use but there are many more that would work as well. Let me show you how I created them but first let’s start with the guirlande.
For the guirlande I used the Gingerbread Man and Lollypop dies. I also used the little Snowflake from the Winter Sweater. You will need a long piece of ribbon that you will decorate with your die cut gingerbread man and circles. I think my guirlande turned out about 1.5 meter long. You will also need felt, Clear Double Sided Adhesive, colored cardstock and a Metal Adaptor Plate. This plate is very important when you are die cutting felt as otherwise your felt will tear.
For the Gingerbread Man, die cut one solid body from brown cardstock, one solid body from brown felt backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive and one body overlay from light brown felt backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive as well.
Adhere a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the Solid Brown Carstock Gingerbread Man. Adhere the ribbon on top to keep the gingerbread man in place.
Next remove the release sheet from the back of the solid felt gingerbread man and adhere on top of the cardstock one.
Remove the release sheet from the back of the gingerbread man overlay and adhere on top of the bron solid felt one.
Decorate your gingerbread man with a bow, scarf, candy cane and/or snowflake. For the little snowflake (included in Winter Sweater die set) I cut one from blue cardstock and another one from Blue Velvet Adhesive which I adhered on top of the cardstock one. I then adhered the snowflake to the gingerbread man with a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive and added a Transparent/Silver Glitter Dot in the center. I added two small buttons to the belly of the gingerbread man that I adhered with a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive as well. After each gingerbread man I added one red and one green circle cut using the top part of the lollypop from the Lollypop die set.
Die cut one lollypop from green cardstock, one from red, one from green felt backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive and one from red felt backed with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Cut of the small part at the bottom of each lollypop top. Repeat the same proces as with the gingerbread man by adding a small piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the cardstock circle and then adding the felt circle on top. After the two circles, add another gingerbread man. Make the guirlande as long as you would like.
Here are some close-up pictures of the guirlande.
And here are some of the ornaments that I created using the following dies: Winter Sweater, Winter Mittens, Gingerbread Man and Skates.
I hope that you enjoyed this totorial and will make your own Christmas tree decorations.
Happy Crafting!

I love these! The felt just brings the dies to life. Love it!!!
Thank you ladies! I really enjoyed making the guirlande and ornaments. So fun and easy to make. Now I have to do a few more to fill up my tree 😉
Very cute and such a great way to make ornaments!
Joset, the tutorial and finished ornaments are fantastic. They remind me of the fabric ornaments I made for our tree when my children were toddlers. That way they could play with them without me worrying about a regular or glass ornament breaking in their little hands. Thanks for this adorable idea!
Wonderful project. Thank you for the detailed directions for the garland. The addition of the festive ornaments, would be welcome on any to tree.
Joset, I adore all of these sweet creations! They are SO cute! I am definitely going to try cutting out felt with my dies. Such great texture.
