Step One. Choose a piece of patterned paper. Die cut a 4″ Stitched Rectangle out of the patterned paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Using a blending tool with foam, ink the edges of the rectangle with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Step Two. Choose a piece of coordinating patterned paper. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle out of the coordinating patterned paper. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Using a blending tool with foam, ink the edges of the rectangle with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Step Three. Die cut the Flourished Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Four. Choose a piece of coordinating patterned paper. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of the coordinating patterned paper. Using a blending tool with foam, ink the edges of the frame with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Step Six. Die cut the Good Luck sentiment out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Seven. Apply Emboss It Ink to a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Dilly Dilly Lavender Modern Gilding Powder on to the cardstock. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Apply Emboss It Ink to another piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Armenian Pink Modern Gilding Powder on to the cardstock. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Die cut the Butterflies Spray from the Butterflies & Stars Spray out of the Dilly Dilly Lavender cardstock. Die cut the Butterflies Spray out of the Armenian Pink cardstock. You’ll need a total of nine lavender butterflies and ten pink butterflies.

Step Eight. Adhere the Flourished Frame to the 4″ stitched rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle to the 4″ stitched rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the flourished oval frame to the stitched oval. Foam square the stitched oval to the middle of the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle. Adhere the Good Luck sentiment to the middle of the flourished oval frame.

Retirement cards

May 7, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with my May guest design team card tutorial. I needed two retiment cards for colleagues and wanted to use Elizabeth Craft Designs dies for creating them, because they have several that are just perfect for this occasion.

Here are the steps, on how to create this card:

Step 1: Take a white card base and die cut piece of additional carstock with Adventure Edges to create a DIY stencil. Then using the self-made stencil, apply yellow Distress Ink onto the background to create a cloud pattern.
Step 2: Die cut the waves and the palm tree scenery from white Soft Finish Cardstock using the Palm Trees and Ocean Edges die cut dies.
Step 3: Ink the various pieces with blue, yellow, green and brown Distress Ink tones.

Step 4: Adhere the inked pieces onto the card, starting with the waves. Use Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape for the bigger parts and Kids Choice Glue for the smaller pieces. Also, the tweezers are very helpful, when adhering (or inking) tiny pieces on place.
Step 5: Now add a stamped sentiment and sun onto the card. For this card I used the Beach Sentiments (the sun) and the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 clear stamp sets.
Step 6 (optional): Add some white splatterns onto the waves using white acrylic paint or like I did, pigment sticks and water.

I also created a second card using the exactly same steps, but instead of using the island, I used a sailboat die cut die. Sadly, this die cut die is discontinued, but I added links to altenative products into the supply list that would work on a retirement card as well.

I did the exact same steps, like on the first card, but instead of using the Build Your Own Sentiment 1 stamp set I replaced it with Ahoy Sentiments, because it better suited the boat theme. I hope you don´t mind me using a discontinued die cut die on this card? I tried to find you nice alternatives from the store and also did! You could use the Sailor´s Life stamp and die sets to create a fun sailboat image for this card or replace the boat with a hot air balloon – also listed in the supply list. Both these products would fit the theme of retirement and new adventures very well.

Like always, I´ve again recorded a star-to-finish video for you to watch. I hope you like it!

See you soon with another fun project share! Happy crafting!
xxx, Sanna

Two-toned glitter background Parrot card

April 2, 2020

Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with another guest design team project share. I have a friend who loves pink and glitter and it´s soon her birthday, so I wanted to make sure her birthday card would be perfect for her. Elizabeht Craft Desings has the prefect products for this project!

Here is how I created this card:

Step 1: Cut a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock in right size and apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto this piece.
Step 2: Die cut your own DIY stencil with Abstrack Background die cut die (or use a residue piece of the adhesive sheet from a previous project, like I did).
Step 3: Apply Saffron and Pink Peony Silk Microfine Glitter thru the “stencil” onto the background. Start with Saffron and finish with Pink Peony.
Step 4: Die cut a hole with Fitted Ovals die cut dies onto the background. Save the residue piece for an Easter Card.

Step 5: Die cut another DIY stencil using the Adventure Edges die cut die. Then apply yellow ink (to create a cloudy sky onto the card base) onto the background.
Step 6: Die cut the Parrot from white Soft Finish Cardstock (apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive onto the back before die cutting). Ink all Parrot pieces in pink and orange Distress Ink tones. Build and adhere the Parrot into the oval area of the card.
Step 7: Stamp a birthday sentiment with Build Your Own Sentiment stamp set and black stamp ink.
Step 8: Add pearls to the card for additional decor (optional).

I´ve also again recorded a start-to-finish step-by-step tutorial for you to watch. I hope you enjoy it and get inspired to create fun glitter cards yourself!

Wishing you a happy, crafty day and see you again next month with another fun tutorial.

A Set Of Cute Hippo Baby Cards

February 23, 2020

Hello everyone, it’s Sanna Lippert here again today with a set of “build-a-Hippo” baby cards. I adore this little die cut die so much –– it’s perfect for so many occasions, and practically made for creating baby cards! And while I was at it, I created a set of three. You never know when you’ll need one!

This is how I created the cards:

Step 1: First take a sheet of White Soft Finish Cardstock and die cut 3 sets of Hippos. And don’t forget to die cut the feet six times!! 🙂
Step 2: Next take a sheet of Soft Sky and Dusky cardstock and die cut two sets with the Stitched Rounded Rechtangle from the blue paper and one set from the lilac one.
Step 3: Take a white Soft Finish Cardstock sheet (or glitter cardstock) and die cut three sets with the Postage Stamp Rectangles die cut die.
Step 4: Ink the hippo pieces with grey and pink stamp ink, but leave the eyes and teeth white.

Step 5: Now cut blue and purple patterned paper into a card size from the polka-dotted “Thinking about Polinesia” paper. Adhere onto the card base.
Step 6: Attach a piece of ribbon in blue and pink onto the cards, then adhere the rechtangle pieces on place. Start with the postage stamp piece and adhere the rounded rectangle on top.
Step 7: Add a stamped sentiment using the Ahoy Sentiments or the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 stamp set and black stamp ink.
Step 8: Color the tiny eye pieces with a black marker and adhere in place.

To give you a better idea of each and every step, I’ve again recorded a video for your to watch. I hope you like it!

I hope I inspired you to play with your dies a little today and create a few cards yourself! I’ll be back with another project next month.

Until then, happy crafting!
