Birthday Flyby!

September 4, 2023

Hello all. My little ladybug is doing a flyby today, a simple design which would be suitable for different occasions to. I have used the new pretty pastel 12×12″ papers which are absolutely gorgeous.

Step One:

First cover the front of a top folding 5 x 5″ card blank. I wet glue the card blank itself then lay the paper on top starting one corner, then turn over and trim off the over hang.

Step Two:

Using a cloud edge die. die cut into a piece of white card at approximately 2.75″ or 7cm apart leaving a bit of card at the sides for folding. Fold one side where the die cut starts then lay the panel on the card blank about 3 or 4 mm from the edge then make a mark on the other side and fold. The panel need to be slightly wider than the card blank.

Step Three:

Trim the cloud panel edge flaps down to about 1/4″ or 5mm fold inwards then starting a one side glue the flap to the card front followed by the other, this will create a slight dome shape.

Step Four:

Die cut and build the ladybug, you can build the bug facing left, right or forwards whichever you like. Ink all the pieces to bring the character to life and add some detail with a white gel pen.

Step Five:

Add a sun shape poking out of the clouds, use a circle die 1.25″ or 2cm. Layer two together, ink around the edge and fix to the front.

Step Six:

Finish off with adding whatever sentiment you would like, here I have white heat embossed onto black card.

That’s my card for today, I hope I have inspired you to have a go at creating you own flyby.

Happy crafting – Jackie x

Pumpkins garland

August 30, 2023

I suspect you know by now I love slingshots. Nice to make, to hang and to give as a gift. And sometimes you suddenly have inspiration to make even those nice garlands even more fun, like this one.

This one has lights in it. I now have a lot of those light garlands that you buy at the garden center around Christmas and I thought, how nice is it to make a garland for Halloween with pumpkins and lights in it. But then I thought, that’s also nice for fall, so no Halloween additions to this one, there will probably be another one, and Christmas and who knows what else but for now, Clear and Simple, just pumpkins with lights! I used these beautiful pumpkins from Annette’s Everyday Elements collection. They are currently only available at your local craft store, but very soon on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website as well.

This is how it hangs on my door in the hobby room. And at night the lights are on.

First I punched 20 pumpkins, 10 of each.

They are all colored with distress ink. NB!! 5 in the front and 5 in the back.

So beautiful right? Also nice to put in a bowl.

I glued the light in between with 2 pieces of foam tape.

Then some glue around it and the other pumpkin in mirror image stuck on it.

The edges received an extra layer of tea dye distress ink for the finish. And then the garland is ready.

It seems like quite a job, but I came up with this in the morning at 7 o’clock and at 11 o’clock my

pendulum was ready. And I also had to shower, get dressed and have breakfast of course, so with about 4 hours you also have such a nice garland with lights and you can of course vary endlessly with it.

Hopefully I have inspired you to make something fun for fall or Halloween .

Thank you for visiting,

With love,

Marjolijn.

Ladybug Slim Line Card

August 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. When I received this set from Joset it automatically brought me back to some wonderful memories as a kid, picking daisy’s and collecting ladybugs. So today I wanted to create this super fun playful slim line card featuring Joset;s new collection “Bugs and Butterflies”. So grab a coffee and I will walk you through how I created this card.

Step 1: Cut your ladybugs from coordinating cardstock, the wings are cut from heavy vellum.

The flowers are cut from white and yellow card stock.

Ink all pieces before assembling with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, the cheeks are inked with Flamingo Distress Ink, I used a white gel pen for the dot in the cheeks. As per picture bellows.

Step 2: Choose your favorite slim line die, the one I used was from Photoplay. Next, I cut a piece of background paper and acetate to fit the card front and assemble. I like to use a bit of acetate as it creates a bit of a shimmer behind the card. then cut and fold your slimline card base.

Step 3: Next, attach your flowers and pop dot your ladybugs.

Step 4: Stamp your choice of sentiment from “Bugs and Kisses” and pop-dot to your card.

Step 5: Splatter your card with heavy acrylic paint.

Thank you for joining me with todays blog post, if you have any questions about my card please send me a message on Facebook Katie Porcina. Happy Crafting.

Balloons

August 21, 2023

Hello there.. Jackie here with todays inspiration. Todays card is great if you need a super quick design in a hurry! this card could also suit a number of different occasions by simply switching out the sentiment.

Step One:

Start by stamping out the ‘happy text’ from stamp set – Everyday Essentials Happy CS299 on to a scrap of whit ecard stock.

Step Two:

Use the cloud like die form set – Slimline adventure edges 1925 to cut two strips that resemble clouds. Ink the shaped edge to add some dimention.

Step Three:

Cut a panel of white cardstock measuring 5 x 5″ or 127 x 127mm. Trim the prepared cloud strips to fit across the panel then glue in place at a slightly crocked angle. Stamp the LOVE YOU sentiment using black ink. – I did cut my stamp so that I could use the love you on its own but you can mask off the stamp if you prefer.

Step Four:

Layer the panel onto a top folding card blank measuring 5.25 x 5.25″ or 135 x 135mm.

Die cut the square frame into black cardstock then again into back fun foam and glue the two together. Fix this to the centre of the card front.

Step Five:

Use the balloon die to cut three patterned paper balloons then tie some gold twine around each one leaving a long tail. Pop up on 3d foam pads.

Step Six:

Carefully glue the balloon tails at the card bottom then once dry trim off any excess. add some hearts form the shaker bits along with a few sequins.

That’s it for todays card, I hope I have inspired you today. Like I said before this card would be good for a number of occasion – Happy crafting.. Jackie.

Step And Smell The Flowers

August 18, 2023

Hello, craft buddies,

Welcome to my blog. I am back again with another beautiful inspiration using Elizabeth Craft Design supplies. Today I am focussing mainly on the floral dies. I have 2 beautiful sunshine floral cards to share using Elizabeth Crafts Florals 10 and Floral 5.

I have created backgrounds matching to the florals. In both cards, I have added textures to the backgrounds by using embossing folders from my stash.

For my first card, I distress the panel in ombre in the tones of yellows to match my florals. Yellow flowers made using the Floral 10 die set and white daisies made using the Floral 5 die set are combined to create a beautiful floral bouquet for the card. The foliage used is made using Elegant Leaves die set. A frame is cut in white using Stitched Indented Rectangle die set.

Here are a few close-up shots of the floral bouquet. The sentiment is stamped with black using black archival ink and is from With Love Sentiment stamp set.

Here is my second card for the day!!

For this card, I kept the background panel white and embossed with 3 D embossing folder. The floral supplies are all the same as in the first card. To bring a little change, I have distressed the pannel in Ombre and nested Stitched Indented Rectangle die with Stitched Ovals die set to create a beautiful backdrop. The oval die cut was further embossed and framed with a white frame and the double layered, upside down as shown.

The sentiment Bloom comes from Smell the Flowers stamp set and sits beautifully on the tag from Book Box die set.

Caterpillar farmer

August 16, 2023

Hii everyone, I’m here with a new blogpost. Fall is coming so it is time to make some fall pages. The caterpillar is very busy with his pumpkins.

I made a basic page with Sidekick Essentials 20. I made his land with the Slimeline Adventure Edges and adhere them at the smaller blue piece at the page. You can play with the different heights.

As you can see I made 4 different pieces land. If you used put some tape or glue at the sides and leave the top open, you can slide things between the layers.

I made a caterpillar farmer with ofcourse the caterpiller and the farmer. I only used the hat and the pitchfork. I used paper from the beautiful brights and pretty pastels for this cute one.

I adhere the caterpillar farmer as high as possible because I want to add a lot of pumpkins. I didn’t put glue behind the pitchfork so I can put a pumpkin under the fork.

I add different size pumpkins and leafs. I also put them between the layers as I said earlier. But when I finished this I missed something…. and no it’s not the reinforcers…..

I missed these swirls between the pumpkins. And I also adhere the reinforcers.

The page is done for me now, the caterpillar farmer needs to work hard for the pumpkin festival I think.

I will thankyou for visiting and see you next time!

Kind regards,

Lisanne Geerdink

Bee-utiful August Sidekick Planner

August 10, 2023

Hi everyone, Happy Friday! Katie here with todays Bee-rific Sidekick Planner, using Joset’s new ” Bugs and Butterfly Collection”. I have been having so much fun with this collection creating cute summer themed pages for my sidekick! So, grab a coffee or your favorited beverage and lets begin!

Step1: You will want to start creating your bees, honey pot and flowers. I cut all the images from solid cardstock except the wings they were cut from heavy vellum cardstock. Then ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, and assembled as per the photo above.

Step 2: Cut two base pages from Sidekick Essentials 20 with your choice of coordinating designer paper.

Next, I took Pocket Page Fillers 2 and cut out a photo mat and adhered it to my page. Once my photo matt was down I adhered my month (August). Then I pop-dotted my Bee and Flowers!

Step 3: On the second base page, create a pocket using Planner Essentials #26 then ink and attach your pocket. Next, I adhered my honey pot and pop-dotted my Bee and Flower. I stamped out the word Bee-utiful and matted onto black cardstock and adhered it to the top of my base page. I created a few tags and added them to my pocket.

Last you will want to add your reinforcement rings to both pages.

Step 4: Last step, I always like to add a little splatter with heavy white acrylic paint.

If you have any questions in regards to these sidekick planner pages please send me a message via Facebook to Katie Porcina.

Have a wonderful day and happy creating!

Make A Wish Card

August 8, 2023

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. In real life I am not much of a fan of insects but the new release from Joset Designs I find myself wanting to make more and more. The release can now be purchased to the ECD Online Store! I have linked them at the bottom of this post for your easy convenience. Below are steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″, score ar 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Add Washi Tape or Painter’s Tape to the edges of each side. Apply various colors of ink using a Blender Brush. I use 4 colors Pink, Yellow, Teal and Purple. Once done remove the Painter’s Tape.

Step 3 – Diecut Fitted Rectangles to the panel created in Step 2.

Step 4 – Stamp Sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink on the panel created from Step 2. Adhere the panel to the card front using Foam Tape.

Step 5 – Diecut Grasshopper using White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using Inks of your choice apply using a Blender Brush. I used 3 shades of Green to create shading. Start with the lightest color using a Big Blender Brush, use a smaller brush for the medium Green. Finish off with a small brush for just a touch of the darkest color. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kid’s Choice Glue.

This card can be used for several occasions by simply changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the Products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Follow your dreams

August 7, 2023

Hello everyone, Jackie here today with this cute shaped shaker card. This new collection from Joset is absolutely fantastic, the shaker die set is so versatile and can also be used without adding shaker parts so it is a must have set! Anyway let get started.

Step One:

First we need to create the circular card part. place a medium sized circular die on top of a top folding A2 card blank ensuring to leave a tiny bit over hanging at the top crease. You may have to run this through a few times as it will be quite thick.

Step two:

Die cut a further two circles. Ink blend one circle with a selection of blue inks then attach one to the front and one to the back making the card base more sturdy.

Step three:

Next we need to create the shaker window. Die cut a handful of circular frames and glue them all together, I have glued 5 together however you can make this part bigger by adding more layers.

Step four:

Use the inside of the metal frame die to draw a circular shape on to a piece of acetate then cut this out. Glue the prepared circular frame to the acetate, die cut one more circle and glue this to the reverse side then set the aside to dry. Tip: I find a white gel pen just about works on the acetate.

Step five:

Die cut lots of shaker bits and carefully lay them on top of the card base then glue the prepared acetate part on top. Set aside to dry with some weight on top to keep in nice a flat.

Step six:

Make up the bee as normal with two exceptions. Cut two of the same leg as he is flying and you will only need to use two wings. Use a little ink blending to add some dimension then add some white gel pen dots to finish the look.

Step seven:

Next we need to add the base stand. Die cut four of the stand pieces and glue two together (these need to be study) Glue one to the front and one to the back ensuring they line up when the card is shut. Add a sentiment strip, I have white heat embossed onto black card and popped this up on 3d foam pads.

Step eight:

Finish of by adding a flower, I have chosen to only add one flower but you could add as many as you wish.

It made a lovely change to make a shaped card and these shaker dies make the job really easy, I love that there is a shaker bits die included in the set too . . Thank you for stopping by today ‘Happy crafting’ Jackie xx

Hugs and Kisses Card and Bon Bon Boxes

August 4, 2023

Good day, my dear friends!!

Once again it”s Rajni Chawla, here to inspire you all with Elizabeth Craft Designs. For today’s inspiration, I have a beautiful card and 2 coordinating treat boxes. In my projects, I am showcasing a great variety of dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs like Indented frame dies, floral dies, foliage dies and box dies.

The double-layered frame was cut using Stitched Indented Rectangle die set to display the floral bouquet which I created using Florals 5. The beautiful white daisies turned out so beautiful and elegant.

The foliage added in the backdrop was created using Elegant Leaves 1. The leaves were cut using floral paper, inked using Archival inks in shades of green, and shaped using a stylus.

For the flower centers, I have used locally bought tiny seed beads, using Glossy Accent.

The sentiment comes from With Love Sentiments stamp set. It was stamped on the banner which I cut using a banner die from Book Box die set. The pattern paper used is from my stash and the bird is fussy cut from the paper.

Now comes, the cute Bon Bon box that I coordinated with the cards. The Bon Bon Box Large die creates a beautiful easy to assemble box with a perfect size for treats. I loved it so much that I created 2 boxes. One for the cookies and the other for the sweets.

I decorated one box with the bow and the other box using a bow and the leftover daisies and hung tags threaded with some beads from the stash.

Supplies from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

  • Florals 5
  • pattern Paper from my stash
  • Leaf Green, Olive Green, and Black Archival Inks
  • Dimensional Tape
  • Liquid Glue, Glossy Accent

For more details on the projects, I have created a small video. Here is the link to the video.
