Born With Greatness Card

September 21, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, I’m excited to be sharing with you my Born with Greatness Card which features a variety of dies and stamps from Suzanne Cannon!

See my step-by-step below –– I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

Step One. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Dragon Berry Modern Gilding powder overtop. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Ink the edges of the frame using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut the Flourish Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three. From the Butterfly Flourish die, die cut two medium butterflies and one small butterfly out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over the entire surface of one of the medium butterflies. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the entire surface of the other medium and small butterflies.

Step four. Choose two pieces of patterned paper from the Relax in Garden Paper Pack from ModaScrap. Die cut the 3 1/2″ Stitched Indented Rectangle out of one of the patterned papers. Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Five. Die cut the 4″ Stitched Rectangle out of the other patterned paper. Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. From the backside of one of the pattern papers, die cut the 2 1/2″ Stitched Oval out of the paper. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the “Born with Greatness” stamp from the Soar Collection stamp set and stamp onto the middle of the oval. Distress the edges. Ink the edges of the oval using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Adhere the flourished frame to the 4″ stitched rectangle. Foam square the 3 1/2″ stitched indented rectangle to the 4″ stitched rectangle.

Step Eight. Adhere the flourished oval frame to the stitched oval. Foam square the stitched oval to the middle of the 3 1/2″ stitched indented rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the medium blue butterfly to the top right corner of the flourished oval. Adhere the medium pink and small blue butterfly to the bottom left corner of the flourished oval.

Step Ten. To finish your card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Born with Greatness Card.
