Hi Friends! It’s EK Gorman here just peeking in today to share with you a fun way to get the most out of the new Susan’s Garden Frame It/Stitched Rectangle dies. I just adore the idea of cards where the front looks like it might be one thing, but once you open it, you see another picture entirely. Surprise! The new Frame It dies make this technique so simple that I know you’ll want to join in the fun.

Step 1: Trim a piece of Cafe au Lait Soft Finish Cardstock to 12″x6″ and score it at 6″ to make the card base. Trim a piece of Wood Effects printed paper to 6″x6″ to fit atop the card base.

Step 2: Adhere the printed paper to the card base using 10mm Double Side Adhesive.

Step 3: Using one of the medium sized Frame It/Stitched Rectangle dies, center the die on the wood printed paper and die cut both layers in one pass through the die cutting machine.

Step 4: Trim papers for the inside. Shown: Thinking About You Polinesia printed paper cut to 5.75″x5.75″ and White Soft Finish Cardstock cut to 5.25″x5.25″.

Step 5: Adhere the printed paper into the inside of the card frame using 10mm Double Side Adhesive. Temporarily place, but do not adhere, the White SFC square where it will eventually be glued.

Step 6: Place the whole card frame into a stamping platform and arrange where you want your stamps so only one of them is peaking out of the opening. Shown: Krista Schneider’s Give a Hoot Stamp set. Close the stamping platform so the stamps adhere to the top of the platform and then OPEN the card and stamp the images onto the White SFC using Copic-friendly black ink.

Step 7: Color the images with alcohol markers. Shown: Copics in natural woodland colors.

Step 8: Adhere the white cardstock into the card frame using 10mm double side adhesive.

Make sure that a portion of the stamped images peeks out of the card opening.

Step 9: Place the closed card back into the stamping platform and figure out where you want the sentiment so it can not be seen when the card is closed. I used a sentiment from the Love Sentiments stamp set and stamped it in black ink.
