Thinking of Spring Blooms

It is Anita here with my post for the Colouring Design Team! I love colouring stamped images and Elizabeth Craft Designs has beautiful stamps that can be used on many projects.

I really love their flower stamps and that’s what I have showcased here today.

I have used the Spring Blooms Clear stamp set along with a corner die. In this card, I used the large flower for the main images and the smaller flower for the background. The details follow.

Here are the steps for this card:

1. Cut a card panel in White Soft Finish Cardstock and stamp the bold flower images in black ink. 
2. To create a mask for the bold flower, stamp it onto lightweight paper and fussy cut around it. Use the mask to protect the flower when randomly stamping the smaller flower in Picked Raspberry Distress ink all over the panel as shown. This creates a soft background.
3. Colour the larger flower image with Zig Real Brush Pens or other markers of choice. Further highlight with watercolour pencils and add extra details with a black Sharpie marker or other fine nib marker of choice.
4. Die cut the Oriental Card from White Soft Finish Cardstock, distress a corner with Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and adhere at the top left corner of the card front panel. (Use small dabs of Beacon Kids Choice Glue or narrow Clear Double Sided Adhesive along the straight edges only – no need for glue or tape anywhere else).
5.  Stamp a sentiment with embossing ink on black cardstock, sprinkle with white embossing powder, tap off excess, and heat set with an embossing tool. Trim stamped cardstock, centering the sentiment on a narrow rectangle.
6. Mat with additional borders in Kraft brown and white. Add the sentiment toward the bottom right.
7. Adhere the panel to a white 5″ x 7″ side-fold card base.
