Snowflake Ornaments

November 26, 2018

Hello everyone!

It’s Sara here today, and I have a new winter project for you. I like the Christmas tree and I like to add  some new decorations to it every year!

For this reason I’ve decided to start with some paper ornaments that will be perfect on my tree, but I think they could also be perfect to send as tags or to decorate your Christmas packages.

This project is so simple, all you have to do is have fun creating your own ornaments!

These are the steps:

Step 1 – From Kraft brown cardstock, die cut six snowflakes (two of each size) using the snowflakes from the Snowflakes die set.  Glue the pairs back to back with small dabs of Kids Choice Glue.

Step 2 –  Using Antique Linen Distress Ink, stamp the snowman and the candy canes from the Marshmallow Snowmen Clear Stamp set and the bear from the Winter Animals Clear Stamp set onto Watercolor Paper. Color the images with watercolors or other media of your choice. Die cut the images using coordinating dies.

Step 3 – Die cut the same shapes from craft foam. Glue each stamped and colored image onto the matching piece of foam, again using small dabs of Kids Choice Glue. Adhere to the snowflakes as shown. Optional: Tie fine black thread around the candy canes as shown above.

Step 4 – To create an optional bow and heart to embellish the snowflakes, cover the front of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover the adhesive with Pebble Blue Silk Microfine Glitter. Return excess glitter back to the jar and polish the glitter into the adhesive using your fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Die cut the glittered cardstock using the bow from Color your Easter Eggs die set and the heart die from Summer Drinks die set.

Step 5 – Add the bow and heart as shown or as you prefer. Add twine or string loop for hanging and that’s it!

Hope you will having fun creating your customize Christmas ornaments, be sure to share them on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Family Facebook group.

Thanks for stopping by!
