Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing my Flowers in Bloom Card. Summer is here and every where I go the flowers are blooming, providing inspiration for the card I created for you today. I used a variety of dies from ModaScrap, Els van de Burgt Studio, and Joset Designs, along with stamps from Krista Schneider. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!
Step 1. Cut a piece of Kraft cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″, fold in half to create an A2 top-fold card base. Place three flower stamps from the Laundry Party stamp set on a stamp block. Apply Emboss It Ink to the flowers and stamp onto the Kraft cardstock. Reapeat till the front of the card base is completely covered in flowers. If desired, ink the edges of the card base using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
Step 2. Choose two pieces of patterned paper from the Fly & Scrap patterned paper pack. Choose one of the flags from the Celebration Flags die set. Die cut the flag twice, once from each patterned paper. Ink the edges of each flag using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. (NOTE: In all upcoming steps, inked edges are always blended with a tool with foam.)
3. Die cut the 3/4″ Stitched Fishtail Banner out of one of the patterned papers used for a banner. Cut the banner down to 2″. Use emboss It Ink to stamp the word ‘Bloom’. Emboss with Glacier White embossing powder, set with a heat tool. Ink the edges of the banner with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
4. Die cut the 3″ Dashing Rectangle Die from a third piece of Fly & Scrap patterned paper. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
5. Die cut the 2 1/2″ Dashing Rectangle from watercolour paper. Stamp the row of flowers from the Laundry Party clear stamp set, centered from left to right as shown. Colour the flowers with Tombow Markers to create a watercolor effect (#443, 055, 676 and 177). Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
6. Adhere the flower image to the patterned paper rectangle. Add foam squares to the back of the 3″ rectangle; adhere, centered, to the card base.
7. Adhere the Bloom sentiment to the lower right corner, using foam squares for dimension. Angle the banners at the top right corner, overlapping as shown. (Banners will extend a bit off the right side. Optional: Trim excess if the envelope you’re using is too small for this additional width.)
