You’re So Sharp!

June 25, 2018

Hi Everyone!  It’s Karen here.  I love the Cacti Clear Stamps.  Such a fun southwestern feel!  They’re simply adorable!  I also love the edge of the “Dashing” series dies.  With a combination of Cacti and Dashing, I created a CAS card!

Here are the steps:

Step 1. From 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a rectangle measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″; score at 5.5″ and fold in half to create a top-fold card base.

Step 2. Cut another piece of 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock at 3″ x 4″ and then using a Dashing Square die to cut it at an angle.

Step 3. Stamp the sentiment from the Cacti Clear Stamps using black permanent ink.

Step 4.  Stamp three cacti from the Cacti Clear Stamps with black permanent ink onto a piece of white cardstock that measures 3-3/4″ x 4″.  Stamp them at an angle equal to the angle that was die cut in Step 2.  (Use that piece as a guide for stamping.)

Step 5. Color the cacti and containers with Copic markers:  G82, G85, YR12, YR14, Y23, Y26, R81, and R83.  Color the ground around the pots with dots of W0, W3, and W5 as shown.

Step 6. Cut two strips of green cardstock at 1/2″ and adhere them to the back of the pieces that were die cut earlier with the Dashing Squares.  Cut off the ends of the green cardstock.

Step 7.  Using pop-tape, adhere the bottom portion to the image, lining up the sides.  Adhere this to the card base, followed by the top portion..

Step 8.  Add three half-pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed this “sharp” card!  🙂

Craftily yours,

Karen
