Celebrate You

July 14, 2017

Hi Friends,

DT Melanie here with you to share my newest project. Today I have played with a lot of Elizabeth Craft Designs’ dies along with peel-off stickers and glitter. I had tons of fun!

Follow the easy steps below to create this lovely scallop-edged oval card.

Step 1: To create the glittered roses: Add a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet to the front of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 2: Next, peel off the background around the oval with roses. Then place a clean piece of release sheet (protective paper) with the SHINY side facing up, and place the black outline sticker onto it with the adhesive side facing UP.

Step 3: Expose the adhesive on the piece of White SFC and turn it face down onto the sticky side of the peel-off sticker to neatly pick it up.

Step 4: Use the release sheet to burnish the sticker so it is firmly in place. Make sure not to touch any of the exposed adhesive that is inside the oval!

Step 5: Sprinkle Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto the adhesive. Brush off excess and return it to the jar. Polish the glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 6: Using Copic or other alcohol-based markers, color directly onto the glittered roses, leaves, and background. The vinyl peel-off makes it easy to stsay inside the lines. Here are the Copic colors used for the sample:

R22, R24, R29

YG 13, YG17

B01, B02

E23, E25, E27

Step 7: Use the second to smallest oval die from the Fitted Ovals set to cut out the glittered oval. Alternatively, carefully fussy cut around the oval with fine point scissors.

Step 8: Use the third smallest Dotted Scallop Oval die to cut a blue cardstock layer.

Step 9: Cut a piece of Black Soft Finish Cardstock with the largest Dotted Scallop Oval die. This is the background piece for the layered card front.

Step 10: Cut a piece of Black Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 3/4″ x 12″; score and fold in half. Using the largest Dotted Scallop Oval die, cut the folded card, leaving the fold just inside the die to create the scalloped shape top-fold card base.  See below.

Step 11: Use the largest die in the Entwined Ovals set to cut red cardstock.

Step 12: Die cut the words ‘Celebrate’ and ‘You’ four times each from lime green cardstock. Glue together for added dimension.

Step 13: Glue the black Dotted Scallop Oval to the card base, lining up the scallops at the bottom and sides. (The scallops will extend above the fold at the top of the card.)

Step 14: Glue the red Entwined Ovals piece, centered, on the card front.  Accent with Black Silver Glitter Dots peel-offs.

Step 15: Glue the blue Dotted Scallop Oval, centered, to the card front. Use foam tape to add the glittered rose oval in place, centered on the blue oval.

Step 16. Adhere “Celebrate” and “You” at an upward angle to complete the card.
