Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge – May

May 2, 2017
Negative Die Cut Cards May Die Cut Designer Challenge

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our May Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge. This time round we have a technique to share with you that uses dies in a different way.

Our Challenge this month is ….. “Being Negative” – Normally when we use dies to cut we get a positive piece (the actual die cut) and a negative piece (the leftover piece or pieces that we often throw away). In many cases the negative pieces can also make interesting card components, and it is these pieces that are the focus of the Challenge cards. The Design Team can also incorporate the positive die cut piece if they wish.

For our Challenge today we are giving away a Background Die Prize Pack that includes the Heart Background, Circles, Background, Chevron Background and Diamond Background to 3 winners.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post below and answer this question: What are some project ideas where you could use die cut scrap pieces when crafting?

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, May 5, here on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Now let’s take a look at the wonderful creations our talented Design Team have created for the Challenge this month. For more information about the cards, click on the designer’s name under each card to be taken to the designer’s blog post and will open up in a new window.

Birds in the Spring

April 13, 2017

They say once we see robins, that it’s the first sign of spring.  I have seen robins and a variety of others birds now that the snow has all melted.  It was fun creating a scene with a variety of Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets.  I have included sets from Joset Designs, Els van de Burgt Studio, and Susan’s Garden Club.  Here is how this card was created:

Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge – January

January 10, 2017

Hi everyone,

We are excited to be bringing back our Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenges for 2017! On the first Tuesday of the Month starting in February we will be holding our Die Cut Design Team Designer Challenge. Our Coloring Design Team Designer Challenge will be held on the third Tuesday of each month. (For January, our challenges will both be held a week later than the rest of the year.)

For our first Designer Challenge the theme is “From the Heart”. The Die Cut Design Team will be creating a card or project that incorporates any of our heart dies. Valentine’s Day is next month but hearts can be used for so many more occasions than just Valentine’s Day.

Many of the designers’ projects have been created using the new dies in the new Els van de Burgt Studio Valentines Collection or the ModaScrap Collection. Both are available for purchase on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website now.

Lovebirds Oval Pull Card

January 3, 2017

Hi everyone,

It’s Frances here, with my first project to share with you for 2017. For my project today I have used three of the new dies which are being released on the 9th of January. The Love Sentiments set and Love Birds are part of Els van de Burgt Studio Valentine Collection, and the gold decorative piece I used to decorate my card is the Lace Pocket from a new designer called ModaScrap. This die can be used in so many ways – not just for creating pocket cards.
