How To Make This Mother’s Day Gift Box

May 6, 2019

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Happy Mother’s Day Gift Box. Mother’s Day is only 6 days away, so why not make a pretty gift box for that gift for mom?

To create this gift box, I’ve used dies and patterned paper from ModaScrap as well as dies from Joset Designs. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!

Step 1. Choose a piece of patterned paper from the ModaScrap – Butterfly Dream Paper Pack. Die cut the Star Pillow Box die out of the patterned paper piece. Ink the edges of the box using Ground Espresso Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step 2. From the Words 3 – Happy Holidays die, die cut the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 3. Die cut three Leafy Branch 2 out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Shabby Shutters Distress Ink over the entire surface of each leafy branch. Trim the branches to your desired length.

Step 4. Choose two of the Happy Flowers. Die cut the two Happy Flowers twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, bend Picked Raspberry Distress Ink over the entire surface of the happy flowers.

Step 5. Assemble your Star Pillow Box.

Step 6. Adhere two of the happy flowers together and finish off the center of the flower with a Transp. Glitter/Gold Dots. Adhere the last two happy flowers together and finish off the center of the flower with a Transp. Glitter/Gold Dots.

Step 7. Start by adhering two of the leafy branches on the left hand side of the star pillow box. Adhere the two happy flowers overtop of the leafy branches.

Step 8. To finish off the pillow box, adhere the Happy Mother’s Day sentiment to the right hand side of the pillow box.

Thanks for joining me today. I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Happy Mother’s Day Gift Box.

Katelyn

Planner Books

June 30, 2018

 by Judi Kauffman

Planning a wedding or other big event? Need to keep track of invitations sent and RSVPs received, the menu and other aspects of the special event? Give some inexpensive composition books a facelift and you can do it in style!

To customize the books for use as a journal instead of a planner, incorporate the word ‘Courage’ or ‘Memories’ or ‘Faith’ or ‘Make a Wish’ instead. And ‘Special Day’ remains a good choice for journals as well as planner books. Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words collection has so many wonderful options.

Romantic Corner Cone By Judi Kauffman

By Judi Kauffman

The new ModaScrap Romantic Corner 2-die set is so elegant and there are so many ways to use it!

I designed a cone that’s just right for a mini teddy bear, two or three wrapped bonbons, a piece of jewelry, some dried flowers, or a bouquet made with Susan’s Garden flower dies. The back is flat so it can hang against a wall or sit atop a plate at a bridal shower or anniversary party.

Scrapbook Layout with Die Cut Pieces

March 30, 2017

Hello there everyone,

It´s Sanna here today with a tutorial for the Die Cut Design Team. My passion for paper crafting started with scrapbooking, then I discovered other areas of paper crafting and got distracted. Well, I actually broadened my spectrum. I wanted to go back to creating a layout for a change, so today´s project combines die cutting and scrapbooking.

More Love

February 26, 2017

More Love
by Judi Kauffman

Though Valentine’s Day is in the rear view mirror, I kept going with cards that use the ‘love’ die from the Baby Love set. I’m getting ahead for weddings and anniversaries. And I needed a special box for a pair of earrings I’m giving to a friend.

I’m nowhere close to done with that ‘love’ die. I’ve yet to use it with the word ‘Baby’! And I’m still happily choosing patterned papers and cutting leaves and flowers to make more of the Pitcher Cards…

Instead of specific instructions for each project, I’m going to provide some tips, design strategies, and a supply list so you can duplicate the cards as shown.

I hope you’ll use the ideas as a jumping-off point for cards with a similar feel in a totally different color palette or a different size. After all, no two people have the same stash of patterned papers, not everyone likes mixing together as many patterns as I do.
