Birthday Candles Mini Slimline Card

April 5, 2021

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. Lately my favourite sized card is the Mini Slimline. I wanted to show that most background dies that were made for A2 size can work to create Mini Slimline size. This will definitely if there is a repeating pattern like the Kaleidoscope Background die. Below you will find the steps to create your own Birthday Candles Card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 7” x 6”, score at 3 1/2” and fold in half for a horizontal top fold card (Mini Slimline)

Step 2 – Diecut Kaleidoscope Background using White Light Weight Cardstock to use as a stencil. Place it on top of White Soft Finish Cardstock trimmed to 3 1/4” x 5 3/4” in the center. Using a Blender Brush apply any ink of your choice. I used Distress Oxide Black Soot. Remove the stencil and align it to the top finding the repeating pattern. Repeat this step for the bottom layer of the panel. Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. See photo below.

Step 3 – Diecut Birthday Candles using various colors of Cardstock. I used yellow for all my bases and used colors of the rainbow for the top with patterns. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue and Black for the Candle Holder. Assemble using tweezers and Kids Choice Glue. Adhere to card using Foam Tape.

Step 4 – Stamp Sentiments 1 – Celebration using Versamark on Black Cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and remove the excess. Heat set it with a heat tool. Diecut Sentiments 1 – Celebration using a scrap piece of Cardstock. Place the stamped sentiment underneath the diecut and place the die inside until it locks into place. Place a piece of Purple Tape and pass it through your Diecut Machine. Adhere to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and will look how your stamps and dies meant for A2 can be used for Mini Slimline cards. Below you will find a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

You Are Adorable

September 18, 2019

Good morning! Laura here with you today to show you a layout I created for Els of her grandson –– he is adorable!

To create this layout:

I used various papers: ModaScrap’s Wood Effect Paper for the background and Blue Cotton Candy for the accent pieces and title piece.

Step 1 – Using your accent papers Die cut – 2 stitched circles – your choice of size and cut one in half, a stitched fishtail with accent paper  and one using the card paper of the blue cotton candy to create your title, kaleidoscope background, the tag part of the planner essentials 11, the largest die in Planner Essentials 8, the heart from Love Struck, a border from Valentines Edges,  the circle and tree from the Love Life Tag  and two stitched rectangles.

Step 2 – apply a double sided adhesive sheet to a piece of Soft Finish cardstock and die cut the following – 2 edges from the Valentines Edges, a circle from the Love Life Tag, and a banner set from the celebration flags.  Peel off one backing and apply midnight blue silk microfine glitter from the Beach Palette set. Rub the pieces with your fingers to bring out the sparkle

Step 3 – Assemble as shown
