Peace, Love, Joy

December 8, 2019

Hi there, it’s Tanja here and today I would like to show you how to create this sparkly Christmas Card step by step.

Step 1: Die Cutting and Stamping

  • die cut one of the Stitched Rectangles from watercolor cardstock
  • stamp the sugar cane from the Oh the Joy of Christmas set with Versafine Clair Morning Mist onto a piece of watercolor paper, heat-emboss it with clear embossing powder and fuzzy cut it
  • stamp the stars from the same stamp set with Versamark and heat-emboss them with WOW! Metallic Silver Super Fine embossing powder

Step 2: Creating the Background

  • add color to the background using Distress Oxide Inks (Faded Jeans, Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire) and a Blending Brush
  • add splatters with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust for even more sparkle

Step 3: Coloring the Image

  • color the sugar cane with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Step 4: Sentiment and Finishing Touches

  • stamp the sentiment from the Classic Christmas Sentiment Set with Versamark onto a piece of torn vellum and heat-emboss it with WOW! Metallic Silver Super Fine embossing powder
  • adhere the panel onto a grey cardbase using clear double-sided adhesive
  • add some silver sequins to finish the card

Have a Christmas-y day!

Today I have a ‘Christmas in July’ theme for you, I know some of us need to create many, many cards; sometimes even into the hundreds.I wanted to give you some easy, stock designs you can make in multiples, and then as we draw toward the holiday season we will work on some extra special ones.  The posts will be a mix of Sunday Stamping and on my blog, so make sure you are subscribed to both so you don’t miss the inspiration! You can see the card we are making first in the photo above. The tutorial follows. I love the texture and shine in this card, I love an easy card I can make as multiples, plus glitter just makes everything better!
